I came here just to express my gratitude. Over 5 years I've been trying to grow cherries, tried one method then got disheartened when it failed and stopped for months then trying and failing again, that circled repeated so many times with a verity of methods found online, some methods took months with the seeds on the fridge just to get them rot. Finally I've tried your way (I even had the exact same pliers) expecting another failure but in just 15 DAYS the seeds are sprouting. You are amazing sir, thank you so much !!

Over the pandemic I decided to try your method & out of 5 seeds I found success. During this past winter I placed the pot in my garden with a bag over the top & a few mos ago I noticed leaves. My cherry seed is now a 1 ft mini cherry tree thanks to your tutorial. Since I love cherries I am buying a dwarf cherry tree tomorrow but will proudly watch my little tree grow. Hopefully I will live long enough to see fruit on it. 😬 Thx so much.

@@Chercher4848 your comment reminded me to do an update: I ended up with 8 cherry seedlings I gave 4 to my sister in law, she said she was moving to a bigger house and wanted to have them, sadly she never did and the cherries remained in their small pots, dying some months later. I planted 2 on a small piece of land near my dental office, they get plenty of sun but I think the soil is lacking nutrients, both are growing very slowly they are about 1.5 meters tall. Lucky the 2 I planted at home are healthy and growing, one is 3 meters tall while the other is about 2.5 , I thought they would be about the same hight as my peaches but looks like they'll be bigger, haven't flowered yet, from what I read there's still some time to go till they can bear fruit. Thanks again @Bamong Doaung!!

You & you alone have opened my eyes to the secret of how to grow cherry trees. I would NEVER have known one most crack the shell 1st & then put nut in fridge for 5-7 days & then peal the hard skin off the nut & put back in fridge for another 5-7 days & what to look for that = germination & then which way to plant the terminating seed in the soil. You are a GENIUS! What made you think of all these necessary steps including fridge & time span? Each time I planted the cherry stone, nothing happened, so I just assumed lack of germination was due to GMO messing with seed. Thank you so much! Wish I had known this secret 30 or 40 yrs ago. I am now too old to start as I am now 61 w/ severe health problems.. Have no one alive to share this secret with. Always too late, after I learn secrets of success of ... Thank you very much, Master Stone Fruit Grower! You & your video have made me very happy to know this secret! 😀

This is a very useful video Bamong, bravo! I just want to add a little footnote. In order to quickly identify and eliminate the seeds with small or non-existent kernels, put all the seeds into a bowl of water. Those seeds which float can be discarded; they will have either small kernels or no kernels at all. Only crack open the seeds which sink to the bottom of the bowl. Thanks for uploading!

I've been looking into growing Bonsai, and when I scoffed 7 cherries at my daughter's house, I figured I'd try using the cherry stones to grow trees. I thought I'd just put them in potting compost, but now that I've watched your video, I realise how disappointing that strategy would have been! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. I was captivated by your enthusiasm and patience and I can't wait to try this out. You present as a very gentle, personable individual, but I suspect that you are probably a Seed God in disguise. I find the freezer too drying for seeds, and I think that's why they don't germinate? The moisture from the seeds gets pushed out early on in the freezing process. Which kills the seeds. If you get fresh and just use the fridge to make a mini Winter, it should be fine. Gl :)

Did you do the same procedure to the tamarind seeds? Where did you get the tamarind seed? Because they said if it came from Mexico it will not grow because they already kill it through slight radiation. Your reply is much appreciated. Thank you.

@enzom.senatore1259
@enzom.senatore1259 5 лет назад

Thank you for this info. I have started saving seed from all the organic fruit and vegetables that I buy. Organic seed sold out in the stores very fast this year and many varieties were not available. I wash and dry them very well then save them in repurposed Vitamin Bottles. They gave those little dry packs in them I add the little packet to the seed. It will keep bacteria from growing I the seed. Make sure that they are dry before you bottle them.

Ruby Moorman, Hi my friend thanks again, I love Bonsai too , I have different types of fruits plants with me which I created from seeds, to transfer as a Bonsai you have to keep few years to make plants healthy as long as roots came strong then think of to transfer in to Bonsai pot, young plant transferring it to Bonsai pot it may die.So patently wait until plant became stronger.

One of the better instructions I have seen. Remember: Thre steps - 3 Steps. The problem may be that cherries are not true seeds. What about en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prunus_avium Sees from wild trees are as a general rule more true than seeds from cuiltivated plants. Lemon seeds are often polyembryonic (google that term if you don't know it) that is you get more than one plant from one seed. The first and biggest sprout may be a "seed clone" of the mother plant.

u dont gow from fresh eaten cherry but if u dry the seeds n plant it the seeds around early spring they will grow 100 % but it takes several years to fruit when grown from the seeds and the size of the cherry will not the same as you bought from the shop they will be kind of wild cherries smaller size better buy grafted cherry tree n plant in late winter or early spring u will have fruits in first year if u know what u r doing .

Save grape seeds in fridge (not freezer) until spring. In early spring, sprinkle them through a ball of moist sphagnum moss in a tupper ware container and place them in an area with limited sunlight (not too hot). In a few weeks you will see roots on the side of the container, put the germinated seeds (look like a white spiders) into pots, ~5-7 per pot. Go through the ball of sphagnum weekly until all the seeds are gone. Protect against birds and insects. You're ready to go! When dormant in fall, transplant to soil. Good luck.
