I installed that exact same camera last weekend, taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get my factory nav unit flashed to be able to add this, thanks for the great video on it
@@NiceGarage I had to buy another harness to put this on my radio but other than that it was pretty easy, I found a video on how to wire one up which made it even easier.
Oh and I think I am going to try to mess with the camera a bit to try to angle it down some more so I can see my hitch, I will let you know how that works out
So I was able to angle it down a bit but I found that the camera isn’t centered and it seems a little off. I filed the bottom and right side of the hole down on the Bezel a little bit and that really helped with the adjustment. I also flipped the little screw into the bottom hole on the camera itself to give a little more angle, now I can see my ball a lot better and hooking the trailer up is a lot easier. Sorry this took so long to get done, when I got my radio flashed it messed it up and I had to send it off to get fixed.
Your tailgate has metal wire holding them up if you take one of them raising your tailgate half way up and wrapped around the tailgate lack pin your camera will be over the trailer ball be help when hooking trailer up..
Good video however, the hole in the bed of your truck where you stuck the wire through is where the tool goes to lower your spare tire. If you ever need it, you’re gonna find it difficult to get that tool in there.
I’ve got a license plate camera and it has no issue seeing the receiver and the trailer. I can also still use the camera while my tailgate is down, instead of it staring at the ground.
So you left the camera end (black, purple, red) wires unconnected. But connected the front end wires to the deck? I have the same camera, and a pioneer deck. I connected the front end purple to reverse trigger wire (pioneer harness) the red wire to accessories wire, the black to a black wire from the pioneer harness. I plugged the AV into the cam jack (AV IN) got all my settings on the deck correct. NO CAMERA DISPLAY. Any tips?
with my Kenwood all i did was remove the taillight splice my wires and run the video cord to the camera to my radio but mine wasnt a handle camera like yours
Nice helped me a lot. What size cable guard do you use? Also, can you please tell me what was the square opening size for the camera. The opening in the bezel before you inserted your camera.
Hello, I wanted to ask a question because I am already desperate, I bought a tailgate camera for my 2007 silverado, I connect it to the radio and it tells me that there is no signal, I don't know what to do or if it is some problem with the settings on the radio...thank you
If it has power, because I removed the camera that comes with the radio and connected it to the tailgate and it tells me that there is no signal, perhaps it is a problem with the adjustment of the settings in the radio of the resolution of the camera or that it came broken, I already know I wrote to Amazon and they will send me another one to check.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y4PR7VM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Looks like its not available anymore though. I can tell you it still works, and works good.
@@NiceGarage I found a new factory DVD deck, camera, bezel, wiring everything I need,I called GM and they claim it will require reprogramming, does this sound accurate?
