Mmaaaaannnnn , this started out as a fuel pump 😢😢😢 Now i got the whole truck tore off a rusty frame , Heay you got a car trailer , free scrape ... I can't stand the thought of all them payments again . All you gotta do is run me over on your way out , real good too , may have to back up even ..i'll help you load it too..😂😂

For the purposes of clarity, there are a number of 8mm water drain holes on the bottom of the mid-rails as can be seen in your video on the opposite side rail assembly. That is the GM standard for those components. As to if they are effective enough due to their small size and wax around the hole, they may get easily plugged by debris so that may be open for discussion. Because they are boxed, ideally only water should get inside.

Random question is the extend cab and crew cab the same on a 2008 Chevy 1500? I have the same rust issue but can’t for the life of me find a kit that fits a crew cab

Unfortunately yes the crew cab frames are different, from what I understand the crew cab actually used a 2500 frame for several years.

Pro tip , welding on under coating makes mustard gas , it will take a lung right out , it takes awhile to find out too , you can't breath right away , but the long effects are worse , can't breath stays then , ..and welding in deep inside a trunk of a old 71 oldsmobile will cause flash burn , even with a old school helmet ..and 3 weeks in the hospital during michigan deer season sucks too , with patches on both eyes , not breathing good , and having your hot rod in the middle of a paint job , i almost died ..😂

@@MikeSmith-nu9wt OUCH glad you made it out of that at least. I have only had a minor incident where I accidentally made phosgene gas some time ago welding on a Ford 9", only an ER visit on that one but certainly had the breath taken away feeling. Ripping my helmet off and running outside trying to catch a breath.
