Yoooo, I don't know if anyone else noticed this or if I'm just really dumb, but during the rap part he reference's Marvel characters! "Human Torch can't fuck with me!" Human Torch, referring to...well, Human Torch. "Johnny Blaze, Suspect B" Johnny Blaze, referring to Ghost Rider Also there's that DBZ Reference, but that one is obvious I love this song even more now.
The rap part is kind of like the song Number One from Bleach to me. It sounds silly and out of place, but it...grows to you. Then it's actually rather catchy.
yea I agree also (I love dragon ball z) the "And super sayin now" line really bugged me also too much swearing (I don't mind swearing but it's not right for the RWBY universe.)
The rapping is okay, but CDanielarts makes it better in my opinion. Plus the rapping has too many swears...I mean, who else was surprised when in the actual song she said, "Kick my A$$? I'm World Class" ?
X Farrell I'm not saying I don't like his style. I'm just saying that if you watch RWBY you would think all the characters look almost too innocent to swear. When in Yang's song there was a swear I was a bit surprised is all I'm saying. Lamar's rapping is good I'm just saying that the swears just don't feel like "RWBY style" if you know what I mean.
Gyrater05 nah Yang's pretty badass. If anything I see her being the one cussing out of everyone. I thin kit suits her pretty well. That's just my opinion though.
I think the rap in the song matches the two sides to Yang the happy go lucky girl who's playful and likes to fight. and her POed self who kicks everyones ass and is incredibly strong. like the line "human torch can't f*ck with me" or "strike em quick lightning fast melt them b**ches down to ash" it matches the two sides of yang does anybody else agree?
It is a shame that this version is not on itunes, only the clean version. Sorry, but hearing him say "burn these britches down to ash" just does not work.
Ginger Daikaiju True, although this song didn't appear in the series so we really don't know how Monty felt about it. If you think about it though, we didn't hear a rap in ANY part of the series. With that, I'm assuming the crew couldn't find any scenes for it to fit in so BAM, it doesn't fit in the series.

tootyfruity70 Yeah, I remember someone, i think Monty, saying that Yang's weakness is fighting people who use kicks a lot, and he uses the Yellow trailer as evidence when she's fighting one of the twins that kick. so I want to see how she deals with Mercury. if you've seen the newest episode, the way he fights looks awesome.
Tristan Abram i know right to bad he was only testing out pyrrah and not actually trying his hardest most likely which is a bummer as his techniques are pretty cool and i would like to see them in a proper combat situation where he is actually trying :P
tootyfruity70 Yeah, I couldn't believe how much he was making Pyrrah look like nothing, I mean, he wasn't even trying to fight her, he was trying to make her use her ability's and he fought amazingly. So, I want a Full fight of Mercury because it would be one of the best fight scenes ever in the show, and also because Mercury is one of my favourite characters at the moment.

So, having heard two different versions of "I Burn", apparently the song is a three minute tribute to Yang being awesome. Being an unapologetic fan of Yang, I am SO okay with this. Also, comment from Monty - Apparently Yang has yet to lose a fight. EVER. Here's hoping for some Yang development in Season 2!

I think the cursing fits well its a bit more family friendly but i do agree the rap feels out of place i do actually think the kick my ass im world class fits well in it but he thats just a theory a GAME THEORY oh wait.......
I wonder what the next seasons songs will be like? also, do you think that there will be character songs for the other characters? hopefully ones that have lyrics and not just instrumentals.
Ok im gonna say it but I like this version better than the original but if you don`t like it because of the rap and Lamar Hall then that's your choice but please understand that that is a petty reason to not like this version of the song any less than the others. Jeff Williams allowed Lamar to be in the song so that's means he likes and respects him as an artist enough to be apart of the song. Just think about that for a while.
Though it took a couple of repeat listens, this song has grown on me big time. I even like the rap, especially the transition to it, and I personally find it suits the song nicely. I think the only other song I like more is Wings.

Red Like Roses briefly describes all 4 members of Team RWBY. Red Like Roses Part ll is about Ruby's feeling towards the death of her mother. Mirror Mirror is about how Weiss has been lonely all her life. From Shadows is about how Blake fought for what she thought was right back when she was a member of the White Fang. I Burn is about how awesome and badass Yang is and how she'll fuck you up if you mess with her. That is one of the main reasons why I love Yang.
