Not shown on camera in these 2 part videos are the hardest parts which is the removal and replacement of the belt. In this video he is trying to slide the belt off the alternator pulley, which I found was impossible as it has raised edges and even with the tensioner fully loosened it was not enough to get it over. The belt needs to be removed from the water pump pulley below which does not have raised edges. In the Part 2 video he does not show reinstalling the belt and again does it off camera. However, you can see, and he explains, that he has at some point removed the engine mount. I've just done this job on my daughter's car without removing the engine mount and it is very tricky to hold the tensioner loose and get the belt back onto the water pump pulley. Lots of cursing and ended up succeeding with the use of a long flat screwdriver to push it into position.

then why u didnt tell here in the comment section how u did it..cuz as for me i did mention in the video that removing the belt is very tricky that i even remove the the engine for better access and if its not helpful for u then sorry but im pretty sure a lot will appreciate my effort in showing this kind of repair

@@asianmechanicguy6483 Yes, the belt replacement is the trickiest part of the job, and the 2AZ-FE engine variant (19mm tensioner) is trickier than the other one with the 14mm tensioner. I was seriously considering removing the engine mount but after several attempts I managed to get the belt back onto the water pump pulley after using a long flat blade screwdriver to push it into position. I had to have the belt in position on all other pulleys and then slide it onto the smooth water pump pulley last. Even with my tensioner pulled as far forward as it could go, the belt is not loose enough to get it off and back onto the alternator pulley because of the side, tracking walls. Only the water pump pulley has no side walls allowing the belt to slide off and back on. My comment is to assist others who may think this is easy, and to explain the part you don't show on camera. There is nothing wrong with the rest of your video. I apologise if I offended you. It was not my intention. I will amend my initial comment. I believe some mechanics remove the wheel and inner plastic panels to access from beneath.

Will removing the positive cable while the 2007 rav 4 2.4 liter engine is running determine that the alternator is bad or good..
