NVBC Diamonds 16U Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Benicia Rebels

NVBC Diamonds 16U took Sunday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 6-4 walk-off victory over Benicia Rebels. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the sixth when Peter Hurd singled, scoring two runs.
Benicia Rebels got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mendoza doubled, and Jeffrey Jarmin singled, each scoring one run.
Benicia Rebels added one run in the second after Jimmy Salinas hit a sacrifice fly.

They went two and one-third innings, giving up four runs on three hits, striking out three and walking two. Josh McCall stepped on the mound first for NVBC Diamonds 16U. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out one and walking three. Jarmin started the game for Benicia Rebels. They gave up six hits and two runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.
Hurd drove the middle of the lineup, leading NVBC Diamonds 16U with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Hunter Weis and Zee Raphael each collected two hits for NVBC Diamonds 16U. Weis stole two bases. NVBC Diamonds 16U turned one double play in the game.
