What a small world. The man playing the slide guitar is Mike Slo-Mo Brenner, when I was a teen he used to play at a local festival in rural new york with his band Slo-Mo. Long before I discovered Jason Molina, and here he is, playing with Molina.

There are not enough live videos of Jason, each one is cherished. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to see a little more of him.
@@letmegoletmego i agree with both of you - ha... there are not enough really GOOD ones, well recorded, well filmed. Jason's story and songs would make a fantastic big Netflix documentary. It would revive his career, not that he'd care. But he deserves more attention. I just learned of him LAST week --and I can't get enough.
I was following them around a little at this time, my favorite band in those years, and had come down from New York on a Chinatown bus for this show. Been wondering if any footage of this existed for years. Three days before my 24th birthday. I loved them, and I love them. RIP Molina. It's hard to listen to this now - so good it hurts.
Amazing sound quality here and the entire band just nails every note out of the park. Less than 1,000 views as of this post and it's easily the best concert video I've seen in the last five years.
Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. I was at this show and I remember clearly the moment around 15:48 where he takes his wallet out and asks to buy $100 worth of water for everyone because it was so damned hot. Amazing memory.
Same for me.I held/hold Songs:Ohia in incredibly high regard, but i wasn't as keen on Magnolia, though they clearly had their moments. The very last album i bought was Songs:Ohia "Magnolia Electric Co." which was good but a little too much Neil Young rock-ish for me.
This performance is amazing. Many thanks for sharing this special moment with anyone lucky enough to hear it. As a new fan of Jason Molina and Magnolia Electric Co. I am unfamiliar with some of these songs; could anyone list the titles and times?
Not going to list the times but here are the titles: 1) dark dont hide it 2) leave the city 3) lonesome valley 4) farewell transmission 5) montgomery 6) just be simple 7) I've been riding with the ghost 8) no moon on the water 9) hammer down 10) running with the devil (van halen cover)
Great performance.... I love these guys so much... Too bad the audio quality is so shitty. Can barely hear Jason sometimes. Oh well I guess we're lucky we got what we got.
What's up with "Lord Grunge" trashing Neil Young? There's no way a fan of Molina isn't a fan of Neil Young or at least Crazy Horse. Maybe Lord Grunge was trying to think of Neil Diamond?
