What i found out is the "fuse" is some kind of feature to basically cut power to the car after an accident ... Basically i eliminated the fuse and it started rite up... The top snaps off easy ... Like i said im just trying to save ppl some money cus im sure the diagnosis and repair at a shop or dealership would be ridiculous ... Took me 10 minutes and boom problem solved .. I hope this helps
had the same thing happen on my 2007 525. looks a little different but does the same thing. I did same as you and just shoved it back together. car started and ran like normal but I kept checking that battery cable and mine was getting super hot after just 5 minutes of driving.. I kept checking and it eventually split that big thick battery cable from the heat.. so I ended up having to find another BST that hadn't blown off to replace it. I have know idea why it would matter unless there is some kind of resistor in that sensor that you took off that regulates the electrical flow.. just please make sure your wire isn't getting hot
MINE RUNS JUST FINE...IF YOURS IS GETTING HOT... IT GROUNDING SOMEWHERE MOST CARS THAT WIRE RUNS DIRECT TO STARTER ... IN THE VIDEO THE CAR WAS RUNNING FOR ATLEAST 30 MINUTES CUS I WAS TESTING THE COOLING SYSTEM TO SEE IF IT WOULD OVERHEAT.. NOT SURE WHY THEY DONT HAVE TEMP GUAGES BUT YEA...LOLTHANKS FOR THE HEADS UP BRO !!
Eddy Loves cars, did the car have any power at all? I have power in the battery, I have power to the front positive starter point under the hood but no power to the junction box.
First of all I want to thank you for helping me out because I had the same exact problem until I washed your video yesterday and fixed it and my car started up on the first crank thank you so much brother for posting this video truly a blessing and save me hundreds and hundreds of dollars be blessed brother thank you
Damn homie 7 years later and you still helping us all 😂 good lord thank you though I was about out of ideas lol but it threw some terminal problem on the in depth reader at bmw but I couldn’t find out
You are a life saver for real bro my BMW 328i did the same thing after I replace the battery couldn't figure it out to save my life didn"t want to take it to the shop.
Amazing!!!! This Guy Is Great! Went out bought a new starter replaced it still wouldn’t work then tried this! My car started right up!!! Thank you so much buddy!!
Thank you!!! My car 2007 328XI slid to the ditch and didn't want to start at all. I hope I knew this video before It will save me a lot's money from sending it to dealership. Thanks.
Modulator of the starship enterprise HILARIOUS. Hahahah. Need more videos like this. Thanks a lot. Mine doesn't have this. Or I can't find it. 116i 1 series. Had the car standing all winter. Battery flat. Re-charged it. Now the car just 'clicks' Could be the ground strap in the engine bay or back with the battery.
thanks eddy Had the same problem, took my BMW to an auto electrician, he hooked up his fault code scanner, BLAH BLAH BLAH $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Found your channel and smashed that thing back into place.
Oh that's a module they tear off the Starship Enterprise...If you're looking at what I'm looking out, you know what it is!" That comment wins the day - I HATE all the technical mumbo jumbo too!
Yeah fcuk knowledge and things... while you're at it fcuk safety fuses too. Since when has a little gas on fire hurt anyone?? Next week, how to fix warning light for ABS (Adjustable Baby Seats or some shit like that) by disabling ABS. Fcuk it, I don't got no baby seat. And you internet gurus... don't you dare teach me something by calling it Anti-Lock Braking System for the flux capacitor or some shit. Ok back to work now, I fix box in other box with words on it that make me go vroom using that one tool thingy with the metal and the shape and it goes like bam bam bam, bam bam, bam! Ignoramus is blitz or piss or I don't fcuking know. uhh whats that one word? Oh yeah... BYE!
Thank you Eddy for this my machinic had to do a little different way but still did some way on how you did on the battery but your idea on checking the battery first works the fuse/hella terminal blew out I'm pissed my boyfriend paid for a whole starter but when the machinic tried the battery thing it crank right away thanks again
My guy, great video.I feel you all the way.. It is a safety mech bmw has... Learned there is basically an "airbag" that seperates that positive cable to prevent car from starting. (Usually this occurs after some type of collision or impact to vehicle) Im having same type of click "no start" symptoms right now I know damn well I ain't trying to remove the whole intake just to get to the starter ...so I'm about to go pop Pop My trunk right now and check that out. Good lookin
My car has the same dash lights and makes the same click noise when attempting to start it up. I’ll be in my trunk first thing tomorrow so I pray this works for me! Appreciate it homie
Thank you . Great video and will help a lot I have a question, after that did all the warning lights go away or still there because I have all these warning light same as you
Thanks to your video bro, i found out that was the problem on my bmw 328i, i was about to replace the starter thinking that was the problem, but i found out it was that cable you just mention
Would this trigger a check engine light in the dash. I have the same problem and I have alr replaced my alternator starter and fuel pump. I’m gonna try this out tomorrow!!
On the positive terminal that was separated I actually put it back together, drilled small hole through it and used a long screw two washers and a bolt to fasten it back together permanently.
This guy is the truth I had the same issue with my car and I was told it was the alternator. After watching this video I tried the same method and boom, PROBLEM SOLVED🙌🏽 Money saved, thanks Eddy.
Hi Ed' You're correct, the positive lead has a Sensor, and when the car has had an accident, or a knock, can set off the (IBS) Battery gas charge and blows the positive lead apart as you indicated, then you can't start the car, I'm waiting for a new lead because of the gas charge. and my battery keeps going flat, Cheers !!
this guy is absolutely RIGHT!! i bought a 2011 BMW 328XI SULEV off the auction .. Every time id have to jump the car and it would not charge the battery and car would shut off 5-10 minutes after. After 3 days of messing around thinking its my alternator , starter, other stuff, Ended up being the exact thing this guy is talking about. So ppl dont drive the car to the dealer and spend 4-5bills first check the IBS.
had a similar issue with my 2006 e90 (330i sport edition) but when I checked that part of the battery/starter cable it was ok. I ended up getting a really long speed bar and tapped the starter, though the intake runners, and freed the starter up so it would crank. now I know this did not fix anything but mierly allowed me to start the car so I could get it in to have the starter replaced.
Okay guys ut doesn't work for everyone but wait a second, just take out the battery and follow the cable that he is talking about and at the end of that cable it is connected to another cable that goes through the car and then to the starter. So make sure to check the bottom cable too becs it might be broken or damaged like mine
Man thanks so much for this video... the bmw mechanic here told me it was my starter and the Cass (key fob) he wanted $2,300 to replace and put a new one in... I did what you said and the car started right up... damn... I wanted to kick his ass for lying to me... but I didn't... the car has been running great every since... thanks again... another reason I don't trust mechanic's...
Thanks. This is great to know. Hopefully it solves our problem. However, if this was common, most people will have unknowingly replaced their starter and still not been able to start the car due to the issue you've identified. That being said, with most people changing the starter and the engine starting right away afterwards... The starter seems to most often be the cause of the issue and also the solution
Hey Ed. I changed my battery and now my radio doesn't work. Car cranked after trying you method but after me letting it sit and not driving same problems again. Crank no.start. I'm going to try your method again. Do you know how I can get my radio to.work?
Man imma go home and check if this is what’s wrong. thanks for helping the bmw community out. Got a bmw for free and they couldn’t figure why it wasn’t starting… 🙏🏽
Did it work for you? I’m having this same starting problem with my bmw, just changed the battery, got a new starter last year in August, we are going to try this today 🙏🏽
@@StephCherie I did try this fix but I don’t think it was the problem. It ended up being the starter. Previous owner installed a cheap starter so I ordered a used $35 starter from eBay and worked like a charm. Got lucky and started up after some engine cranking. Does your engine crank over? Are there any Trouble codes? I hope you figure it out. Good cars.
Can it be the problem of my 328i 2010 it does intermitent start..for exemple it starts normal 9 times but the 10th i have to boost my car after it works again and after i have to boost.. thank you🙏🏼
Hi Eddie . What year is your car . i have a 2008 BMW 328i . i tried following your instruction but the part where you have to hammer is coated with red plastic . What year is your car and the model . thanks .. and your immediate response would be appreciated.
vostro vostro th car is 07 328I 4 door...the plastic actually separates ... the terminals fit in "slots" in the plastic remove and put together as if you would a battery terminal on to a top pole .. easy
What's up Eddie my man!!!!! Bro you are a fucking life saver man! I struggled for two days trying to figure this out! Went online for hours. Then i decided to go to you tube and saw your video. I tried it once pushed it back all the way at least i thought and put it back on and nothing..... took it back off and said imma give it another shot beat the crap out of it, put it back on and bammmm car started hahaha i was so happy! Thanks man you are an awesome human! To the ones that are gonna try this make sure to be careful with the side where the sensor goes. I messed it up a bit had to fix it up a bit. Put on something that is not gonna harm it too much!
My 2008 E90 335XI clicks just once when I push the start button. Is that what yours did? Everything else works...radio, wipers, dash, etc. Just one click when I pushed start button. I hope this will fix it. I'll try tomorrow when light out.
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Onyx Jasper Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
man eddy! talk about shade tree mechanics! the shop cudnt figure this one out! man i haven't seen any other video on here explaining this! i just left the shop with the car...AFTER I FIXED IT AT THEIR SHOP! 😱😨 that's how they felt and looked! saved a few hundred! big ups to you my boy! you tube mechanics! get it! search the tube first! bet ill be trying to buy some no starts now! 😁😁😁😁 good looking though. the look on their faces was priceless...and i used their tools! 😋
Sadly this wasn't the issue for me but definitely a good money saver. Besides this double check the cable to the fuse box, the battery com relay, and the fuse box connector before unleashing the parts cannon.
Hey Ed I’m having some problem I have bmw 530d 2007/08 I started the car up drove out my turning in the wet the car slid a little as it does sometimes Then I had engine management light flash Then I lost power and car died. The lights gone of now And it just cranks. Like goes to start. But won’t start I’m having people telling me it’s your timing chain Camshaft is broke ... stressing me out What do you think man ?
@Eddie loves cars.. my car was working normal ,next day for work no start but light work n everything ima give this a go if it works I think I should pay you at least something
@@muhammadalshawi8082 not exactly.. I wouldnt recommend it.. Jus swap tha starter n ignition coils n spark plugs.. Hmu on instagram (ONLYUDA) i sell ignition coils (coil pack) n spark plugs tha good ones i stealm from my job AUTOZONE so ill give em half price alla time
Eddy Loves Cars this seems like the problem with my 2011 335i. Problem is the red plastic cover around the battery connection is riveted together from the factory. The big red flat cover came right off just like in your video but the little cover covering just the end of the cable is riveted. Did you have the same issue? I'm thinking about drilling out the rivets. I'm wondering if the rivets are something they did on newer models to keep normal people from making the fix. What do you think? Thanks for your video. It was great!
Royce Saunders fixed the electrical issue. If I remember correctly it was the starter. I believe that was the third starter we put on the car. Within days of fixing the electrical, we had an issue with the vanos system. I got rid of the car. Loved the car when I first bought it, hated it by the time I got rid of it. Thanks anyway though.
