'What I always loved about Fedor, is that he'd walk into the ring looking like someone's dad who'd just come in from a huge bender, wouldn't look his opponent in the eyes because it was considered disrespectful, he'd then proceed to absolutely crush them and after the match sing praises about how good a fighter they were. He always deserved the win he almost effortlessly achieved.'
@@klondike69none85 who, me? no I'm just looking to find where Fedor said that about why he doesn't look into the eyes of his opponent before the fight?
trash talk wasn't ever a big thing before the americans mostly brought it in like in so many other competitive sports. don't know why they love it so much. it's a very stupid and childish thing to do and I hope it dissapears as fast as it came up
@Nicky Bobby I didn´t say only americans do trash talk. but they usually do it the most and introduce it in sports many quite often. Not to say that nobody else can/will do it. Mcretard wants to make as much money as possible and you need a good show for the morons in order to achieve that so he just goes to max to get that show, including trashtalk
@@chakko007 weakness? How? Some of the greatest fighters of all time trash talked. Ali for example. Especially early in his career. What he verbally did to poor Sonny Liston was incredible. For some fighters trash talk is the complete opposite of a weakness. For some guys it shows supreme confidence. Mental warfare is part of the fight game. It always has been.
I dislike this new age trash talk too. But many people who don't practice the sport themselves love to hear people talk big. Plus it promotes the fight and helps make money apparently.
Mark should be a hall of fame. He fought the best fighters back then and still today. Overeem Bigfoot fedor wanderlei crocop Frank mir stipe werdum big country cheik Kongo junior Dos Santos Ben rothwell moussasi manhoef josh barnet
Michael Terrell II Well he has big issues with Dana white I think that’s why. Regarding Brock being on steroids when mark fought him. Apparently the ufc knew it
@@shmarek I dont know why Mark made such a big deal of that when hes knocked out plenty of roid heads in the past and been beaten by some but I suppose with Brock not even being a full time fighter that one must of stung abit
He's just been through a war, and his facial expression is like he just went grocery shopping 😂 This is one of many reason why he'll be remembered as the best ever
A lot of guys of this era like that, Shogun, Hendo, Wanderlei, Arlovski, Hughes, GSP, Forest Griffin, list can go on, rolled their sleeves up and got into it
It’s impossible to be a fan of mma and not be a fan of Fedor. The man is always respectful to all if his opponents before and after a fight. Regardless if he wins or loses. And he’s easily one of the biggest legends in the fight game.
Mark Hunt is a tough SOB. When this happened it was so incredibly unexpected for him to get anywhere near this close to Fedor. To mount Fedor was unheard of. True champion with lightning in his hands.
Hunt did not dominate at any point. He capitalized a couple of times on Fedor's mistakes, was unable to do anything each time, and was then summarily executed.
Amasing how Mark Hunt dominated the King of Ground in his own game. And then i remember the head kicks he took from Cro Cop like they were merely slaps...what an unit!
Fedor has to be the GOAT of MMA without a doubt, at the time of everyone else was learning the game he had every aspect skill set, striking, ground game, fight IQ and the stone cold killer mind set, an absolute beast of a fighter 🙏🔥🙏🔥🙏
I don't know what he means, but one thing Fredor did when he first stated. That he even he no longer Dose is read a submission, and start his escape as soon as it was applied. He did it in his first fight with big nog, maybe he studied his opponents before fights. He also had head movement, with counter punch/takedowns. What I mean by that is a quick combo of slip punch takedown. I don't know but maybe it's the Sambo style, it looks look if it was all one motion. That was when he first stated, I guess when he won the championship, he just wasn't hungry for it anymore.
Fedor was such a humble guy constant professional he wasnt there to embarrass anyone he just wanted to put his best effort into every fight and that's why so many fighters who faced him have showed him nothing but respect.
He’s a true devout orthodox Christian. One can see the russian hesychast tradition from Saint Paisius Velichovski to Ignatius Brianchaninov living in his soul today
For me Pride was the golden age of MMA. Even if you had to be up at 3 in the morning if you were in the US just to watch it. The good old days. Everything about it was great. The fighters the crowd the entrances.
He used his short frame and weight advantage to keep Fedor from throwing him. He's also very agile for his size so he was able to outscramble. Just the perfect attributes to defend against a smaller Sambo guy
Young Mark Hunt was a freak of nature. Got beat by much more experience guys. By the time he was older and had the experience he was too old to get over the hump to be champion.
Fedor was the most skilled and humble heavyweight of the day. We already know that. Absolute respect for Mark Hunt's performance tonight. He was the better striker by a margin in my opinion. He also wasn't afraid of the battle on the ground. A great test of himself in the face of the best MMA practitioner that ever lived. I've gotta mention the class of these two elite athletes before and after the bout. Both would walk through today's challenger's with relative ease and face eachother again for the title. You never know it could go the other way! Peace and love to you all ☯️
I saw this first time around, but I only remembered the result. I'd forgotten the masterful escape from the armbar and the reversal, against Fedor no less! Marko Hunto was always so much better than his record suggests. And he's endured as one of my favourite fighters, there have been no revelations or exposes, he was always honest about his past and his flaws, and he's stood the test of time where so many others have been brought down by steroid abuse and being arrogant arses. Fedor and Mark, two of the best of all time in my opinion, for just putting on a straight up brawl.
The best quality about Fedor was his ability to finish a fight quickly when he was in trouble. Hunt and Randleman (God rest his soul) being the two best examples.
Killer instinct, repetition of explosive punches with enough rest in between, during training and being in a lot of fights helps that a lot if you wanted advice about that.
fedor underestimated the strength of mark hunt. he was loosing this fight until the submission. 2 legends of the sport right here. the word legend is thrown around way to much but these two men are the definition of that. 2 beasts here for sure
Fedor did well avoiding striking game with Hunt and imposed a wrestling bout. He may have done so by sacrificing top position, but submission eventually came to him.
For sure I feel Fedor didn't expect Hunt to be so hard to toss. The first attempts at hip tossing he ended up on the bottom cuz Hunt was too big to fully swing around lol
Amazing by both - didn’t realize hunt did so well - was winning for sure . And amazing how many come backs fedor had - such composure and such a winner
Who would have thought Fedor would still be fighting 17 years later, and for a title. It's crazy. And so many other "new breed" HWs have come and gone in that time. A 23 year career in MMA is insane.
Maybe never be another one like fedor .for how great he was he qas equally as humble.that combination is just unheard of.both legends here but there can only be one king fedor
pride was the prime example of TRUE mma, great fighters, great respect for each other. no drama like you see in the UFC and most importantly a great presentation of the fighters there country I mean come on you could go on forever with it :)
Power, speed, technic, stamina, determination, no thrash talk, no waste of energy, no emotions, but respect and humbleness. That's Feodor Emelianenko. That's why he is THE BEST.
