easily the best movie i have ever watched. it's happy, mad, lonely, depressed. most of the feelings people feel are in this movie. it's just so real and beautiful. and so sad to know that events in the movie rally happen in real life.
That enthusiastic feeling that you get while listening to this masterpiece. The joy, the determination, the guts, and the courage to accomplish your dreams all of a sudden show up. Love this movie :')
This track was my favorite from the movie other than the ending song. When this song played as Kanae surfed under the sun, I thought the setting for the song in the movie and the song's title was just so fitting and brilliant!
This is probably one of the best pieces of music in the entire movie. The scenes where they play this are also well chosen. When you watch it you can't help but feel the same hope and energy as Kanae.
This song makes me feel like I'm soaring in the sky, over the sea, like a bird as the sun rises. I feel ever free with this combination of sky and sea, as the title proposes...
it has been over 10 years since the movie came out and I saw it, but I still remember this tune very well and still sometimes come back to listen to it.
I had this playing on my phone when I first stepped off the plane at Osaka airport. It was a couple days before my birthday, and I had finally realized my dream of setting foot in Japan. Something I’d wanted to do since middle school.
We, who were small and sickly at the time, preferred the library over the playground. And because of this, we were teased by our classmates. But when we were together, we didn't seem to affected by those things... T-T It brings it all back!
This is my absolute favorite piece, it feels hopeful, joyful, and happy, I love it, and this piece isn't another version of one more time, one more chance lol
at 0:00-0:08 I am literally in another universe. Flying through the abyss occasionally hitting a hydrogen atom every now and then.... at 5km per second.
everybody who watched the anime or in love with the soundtracks are very imaginative. we see scenes, we feel something. it is like we are being connected somehow.
AAAHHHH THE FEELS NO MAH HEART UUHHHH TOHNO YOU SHOULD'VE TRIED HARDER THEN YOU'D HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE WITH AKARI FOREVER BUT NO I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR GIVING UP SO EASILY JUST KERWGIHWBKLEGRDF
I know how you feel lol, but eventually (and unfortunately) you run out of things to say and feelings are already stretched apart, making things difficult. Trust me...
Long distance relationship is one of the hardest you know. People change. And sometimes no matter how you try it's not gonna work. Some can conquer it but mostly, they cannot.
This song makes me feel like waking up in a bright sunny morning, and getting straight to my kitchen, making a ham sandwitch and slowly eat it while the rest of the music plays. LOL :D
Yes. That is correct. Even if it's only an animation, when you look at it, it feels like more real than reality. That is the power of Makoto Shinkai's and Hayao Miyazaki's films.
Can you feel the wind rushing past you, the sound and smell of the salty sea beneath your wet feet? The fleeting sadness and overwhelming hope fill your heart? Can you see the bright blue sky above you? Off in the distance, can you see her? Smiling with her soft lips that you once kissed? -- that's what this song asks me whenever I listen to it.
Well, being a musician also includes being yourself. Just like the title, writing music is a poem, it's supposed to be played/read. Sure, things here are bad, but I won't give up on the music I want to show. Also, just because someone laughs at you doesn't mean it's bad, they firstly didn't understand it. There's music that makes me laugh, but it has the feelings of laughter. These OST's from 5 Cm/s make me feel happy and sad at the same time.
@aquapendulum Oh...I didn't think of that. But, 500 Days of Summer is an independent film haha. I'm not sure Hollywood will make a film with this kind of atmosphere or message at the point it's at right now @.@
Cheers, I hear it now. I had shitty ass earphones a week ago. Just upgraded. Couldn't hear it because it was on the G string (actually I initially thought it was a viola because of how low it was).
i wanna ask the producer or the guy who came up with the story what the story means to him/her. i feel like there's a lot of discrete and small things that happened in the movie that hold a lot of value. i wanna know more!
@aquapendulum Wow... I never saw that movie... But I tend to have very harsh criticisms for movies. So I know a good movie when I see one even if it is a small part or even a summary. Well I read the Wikipedia entry on the movie and well how should I put it.... it's brilliant. Rarely has a movie this well been made. In fact that is why I watch anime, because the quality is just so much better. I loved the ending with Autumn. Truly symbolized moving on, just like in 5cm per second.
