I like this as a joyful ensemble effort by guys giving it their best and really conveying their enjoyment. The broad instrumental mix works I think because the clarinet still sits on top and belts it out in the required raucous fashion. Thanks!
I think this version missed the humor in the anti-Hasidic polemic of this song. I always heard it as "when the rebbe speaks" the Hasidim all sleep. אז דער רעבי רעדע שלאפן אלע חסידים. And tuba, trombone, bass clarinet and baritone sax: kinda heavy on the bottom?
