My name is Sam and together with my girlfriend Lyanne, I am on a quest to restore the beauty of this old Italian villa from 1895. Join us as we have to let go of our Dutch habits to fit in in our Italian surroundings, were the word 'plan' gets redefined and our tastebuds are awakened.
The goal of this project is to show that with limited financial means and a lot of optimism we can resurrect the beauty of this abandoned villa in a green and sustainable way. But most of all learn from everything that we encounter and enjoy it whilst we're at it.

OMG! A BOY TOY!!! A WOOD CHIPPER!!! YEAH!!!! Maybe your next Big Toy could be a rope tow. Like at a ski mountain (or hill) ~ An engine set up at the house that will pull Pinkie up. Kids in our village made one with an old lawn mower engine to pull them up to the top of their high pasture so that they can sled down again. Perfect! Heavy loads would require a beefier engine but how wonderful would it be if you arranged a way to get stuff the driveway without all the mussel , strain & time!

I must have missed the episode where you said why you aren't putting time into re-establishing the driveway up to the house? You spend so much time and effort in dragging stuff up from the lower parking area! Surely you would save time and effort if you could drive up to the hose to unload heavy items???????

that is one great view of the property from the roof!! Oh I thought the canal was only wet during rains! Here in Canada we can always find someone to dump a big heap of gardening soil on our property! Much cheaper than buying the bags!!!!

I really do think you need one of those self propelled flat carts or wheelbarrow, would make going up that hill so much easier. Cheap on ali express or similar. Love your channel Cheers

Yes to the wood chipper!!!! Just remember, to let the chips compost. Right now the fresh clips could kill the plants as they decompose. Put them off in a pile and layer in some manure. Trun at least once a week. Good luck.

Just a note of concern: In Italy the sun is much stronger then Northern Europe and if you don’t wear sunscreen you will take the chance of getting skin cancer in about thirty to forty years. 😢

I guess I missed the episode too but I know I have asked about the driveway before. It's your house but it looks like it would be so much easier. Lol are you going to compost the chips? Please make sure to use the irrigiators only during the morning and/or evening! A lot of water evaporates if you use them in broad daylight, which racks up water consumption when aiming for the same results in terms of soil moisture.

It looks like you have clay soil... if that's the case make sure to add lime in the fall or early spring to sweeten your soil. Your plants will do much better! ❤️🙏

Does the noise from the traffic affect you in anyway? Listening to your vlogs the noise seems to be so loud I expect once your tress etc grow the noise will be deflected somewhat However at the moment I think I would be wearing earplugs ❤

Well done looking after your back your lifting technique is excellent. Love seeing the wood chipper and that pile gone, we use our little one in Autumn and winter. I do have a question why haven’t you made your driveway access avail,e to your van? All that pulling stuff up that driveway is hard work just watching you.

a lot of your videos are very boring and I want to take a shower! It is a noisy location so I hope it is quieter inside. You can always open it as a hotel which would make money for you are you going to live there permanently.
