One particular episode I would like to see again is 717, from season 6(aired originally on Tuesday 1/14/1975). The main theme of it is “Big Bird tries to get a good night’s sleep”; the premise is that Bob, David, and Maria have invited him to go to the beach with them the next day. So he has the best of intentions to get a good night’s sleep, but in a nutshell, ends up postponing going to sleep because he keeps thinking up ways that he could end up staying awake, or falling asleep when Bob, David, and Maria come for him. Thus he ends up staying up until MORNING, coming up with all these ideas-from putting up Quiet signs galore on his door, setting up his electric fan and wetting birdseed so as to keep the birds away, to getting out a number of clocks in case his alarm clock conks out. Thus by the time Maria and David and Bob have arrived, he is finally out like a light, and still all GROGGY, as they lead him out of his nest area towards the beach as the episode ends. Anyone have or remember that episode?
Furthermore, everything Big Bird does, with his so-called preparation for a good night’s sleep-sounds like something Ernie would do-OVERDOING IT to the nine’s RIDICULOUSLY.
