"Classic" indeed! Nice to see the old (pre-"National") "SOUTHDOWN" livery, reminding me of seaside visits to Eastbourne, Hastings, Brighton and Southsea with my parents in the 1950's. The London Transport single-deck RF recalled visits to my aunt and cousins in Hayes (Kent) in the 1950's, taking the RF-operated route 227 from Chislehurst (Gordon Arms) to Bromley Market Place. Double-deckers couldn't pass under the "water tower" arch which stood at the top of Summer Hill near Chislehurst Cricket Ground.

At least modern buses are easier for those of us with limited mobility to board and alight from! How lovely it wouldbe, though, to see the old liveries in use again, instead of the ghastly fairground colours some of the firms employ...
