My home library contains 1,547 books (I keep a list), so I guess it’s official. Since you will soon have your one thousandth book, it may be time to plan for a solid wall of bookcases. Though I don’t think any of us will ever match Felicity at my _House Is a Library._
A solid wall of bookcases sounds lovely, but I have some built-in shelves that really scratch that itch. I’m still in awe that you keep a list. Felicity’s library is impressive, truly.
Hey, I've always wondered if people who have a ton of books, like you, actually read all of them. Like many folks in their 20s have massive book collections, but I can't wrap my head around the idea that they've read all of them. Are these books just for collecting, or are they planning to read them in the future? Like I have a couple of books but completing them feels like forever 😅
Hi! Well, I see your point about folks in their 20s. I’m past that decade in my life. The collection of books represents all of my boys’ books, my husband’s books and my own books. My main hobby is reading and the plan is to read all of the book I purchase. I rarely, if ever, buy a book just to have it. ☺️☺️ I read about 100 adult books a year and about 100 picture books. I hope that helps.
What book do you recommend? I’m trying to get into reading. Maybe one romance or fantasy, to make the selection easier. but I’m down to read anything. Maybe the closest thing to something I liked was salt to the sea or only human.
My library is more of a shopping problem masquerading as an intellectual pursuits but I am OK with that and the stack For larger and larger and I need new shelves now
I was legit off 8 and went to the thrift store and got 16 more books putting me at 1,008 lol but I’ve been reading and taking some out so I might have to recount
Go full Bibliomane, I see a lot of empty space and pictures where books could be. You slackin, lol! Nice Star Trek mug, I have had my Spock mug for years.
It was just a flash of spine, but did I see some everyman library hardcovers in there? Could be mistaken. I love seeing other peoples collections, and the everyman library has a special place on my classics shelf. They are bound so well, them and Library of America. Simple and beautiful tomes. Edit: I was mistaken, I do have that same Calvin and Hobbes set tho! One of my finest treasures.
Hey mum can u adopt me pls ? My own parents hate me because I love reading books plus they force me to study medicine even tho they know I ve zero interest in it 😂😩😭
@@Shellyish ....... well the first thing i read [book wise] unaided was the sandman library [1 - 10] back in '93/'94. my mum wasn't too happy '100 quid i spent on those comics'....... and after that i graduated to : anne rice, stephen king, michel crichton, alan dean foster.......and marvel comics
I counted at the beginning of my channel-about 1,100-and again recently for a book tag…where I thought I had decreased, it wasn’t by much! Still over 1,000. So much for my decluttering!
I think I’m in the 900s too, but I need to properly count the books in my loft and garage storage to see. I think I had 880 just on my bookshelves. The amount of children’s picture books in my garage, I could start a library so I wouldn’t be surprised if they tipped me into the 1000s.
😂 you are about where I was at last count, and A couple substantial hauls this year I'm sure have pushed me over. Hurrah for being official librarians, doubly in your case.
