I don't remember this particular commercial, but I was looking for the 1960's Post Honeycomb jingle. I love the voice and animation work in this production. Most likely this was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. " Post cereals make breakfast, a little bit better." Thanks for posting.
I remember this commercial! It didn't really turn me on to the cereal (my parents wouldn't allow sweetened cereals in the house), but I loved the jingle, which sounds even better today. Thanks for posting this.
I wonder who did the voiceover (and voiced the Honeycomb Kid; could be the same individual). My first and probably incorrect guess is Ray Goulding of Bob & Ray.
Yes it is. Jimmie Rodgers sang the original "Honeycomb" in the late 1950s, so it was fitting that Post hired him to do the jingle for new Honeycomb cereal in 1965.
1965's Post Honey-Comb cereal commercial tells a story of a legendary western town hero with a megawatt grin on his face known as The Honeycomb Kid whose real name is Harry Comber who resides in the Wild West where he spends his time coming to the rescue with a ton of carriage-driven animals especially the one with two tigers whenever disasters strike with a help of Post Honey-Comb cereal which, hence its title, contains crispy hexagon-shaped corn cereal pieces resembling a bunch of honeycombs that's giving him a lot of energy to help a little buckaroo and his granny facing a various landslides near the mountains every time the weather changes since he's no stranger to be in great danger accompanied by the late Jimmie Rogers' "Honeycomb" song from the 50's.
