Great video Rob, I just ordered one of these new from eBay today. In May of 2020 I just paid $315 shipped. Like yourself I much prefer the diecast models and am trying to get as many of them as able in the coming years. I always enjoy the videos, cheers! 🍻 🏁
I really enjoy your content. Keep it up Rob! I recently added a BBR Ferrari Enzo (full diecast) and watching this really makes me want to add this and display it next to my Enzo. Bought the Autoart Composite P1 and 918 and I must say although they are good, it doesn't hold a candle to the good old diecast days.
I used to have 4 Bugatti's, but I sold them all due to space restrictions and just down sizing the collection. Before I started my RU-vid channel, my collection was around 350 models
Hey! I was planning on buying this model, it looked pretty great and I have one question which I could wait out and see the tutorial book, but I can't wait since I'm excited. Is there a compartment to store the roof in? Or when it's off, I should just keep it near the car when it's on display?
Forgot to mention the racing wheel nuts, red and blue per side like on the Carrera GT. How do you deal with dust if displaying fully open? Behind glass case?
Rob you clearly are impressed by the classic Autoart diecast models. Models such as this MC12 and even more so the Alfa Romeo 33 T2 and Zonda R are full of detail and hands down better than what AA is putting out now, but if you think these models are good you should check out some of CMC's models, such as their recent 250 GTO or the classic Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, Maserati 300 S, and the amazing Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR models. The detail and quality on such CMC models blows AA out of the water. And if you want the absolute best Exoto's XS line, especially the Jaguar D-Type, are beyond anything else in the mass-produced diecast industry.
I have seen CMC's and I know they are even better, but they don't make any modern super cars:( I did just buy and review a Exoto Nissan R89C and it has amazing detail, but was still over double the price of this AA. I just think these older AA models for under $300 are great value
Yep - it's a pity CMC don't make modern cars, but modern cars also have most of their internals hidden so their talent for detail would be wasted. Exoto's Group Cs are among my favorite 1:18 models! External detail is better than the best from BBR, MR, Peako, Amalgam etc thanks to the tampo printing instead of decals, paint is as good, and of course the metal body just feels better. And let's not even get started on the extreme detail under the skin, something completely lacking in sealed resin models.
Nice model. I will never buy Autoart composite models. They are dead to me now. I agree there are so many older diecast models to collect now but prices are increasing all the time.
Now is the time to buy them. I agree with you on the AA composite models, very disappointing, and I have even sold my AA Koenigsegg One:1 already. My Frontiart sealed resin is sooooo much better.
ROBS MODEL CARS . It’s a shame because Autoart was expert model builders. Cost cutting I suppose and it shows. But it does give me a chance to catch up buying the older models. Good luck with the channel. Always enjoy watching.
