It was so nice catching up with you today. I'm glad you were able to cradle Kit Kat in his last moments and hope it brought you some comfort. So sorry for your loss--hugs. What a nice trip to look forward to next month and I'm sure you will appreciate the warmth at that stage of winter. The i-cord tool looks really interesting and I can see how it would be addicting. It looks similar to spool knitting but more fun. The semi-solid tweeds do look cozy but I am trying to resist (you make it really hard!). Take care and enjoy the rest of your January. (P.S. I feel honoured that you used the bag for such a special project.)

Lisa, sorry for your loss. I’ve seen that cordsmith all over Laura’s Instagram feed. Very intriguing. Sending hugs from Deep South Texas.

I’d love an icord maker. I’ve been doing lots of applied icords on my Bumpy cardigan. ❤

I saw Laura Nelkin using it for an applied icord edging- I would put icord edging in everything with one of those!

The Cordsmith looks so cool! Everyone seems to have one all of the sudden, and I'd love to have to to use up finer yarns to make a chunkier strand to work some bigger knits.

So sorry for your loss of your Kit-kat. I started making I cord garland for a Christmas tres but still haven't finished it. The I cord maker would be fun to try.

I'm SO sorry about little KitKat. The hat is a lovely tribute. ❤ Where in the world did you find chickpea tofu? The new-ish Vietnamese restaurant in Greensburg makes a great fried tofu appetizer, too. (Maybe not as good as Pennsyltucky. Mad Mex is 🔥) I love i-cord edging, but I hate making it. LOL

I have seen the cord smiths on Instagram! They look very interesting, and I feel like "mesmerizing" was the perfect description. I would love it if the tool could be used for an applied icord edge...

I’ve had my eye on the Cord Smith and thought this would been great when I knit the iCord drawstring for my sweatpants test knit. I wonder how an iCord border would look on your blanket. 🤔

Aww Lisa, when you were talking about your loses, I just wanted to reach out and give you a hug. Memories and comfort knitting help. I love making I cords, but that tool would make it faster! I am making a cowl that uses an I-cord tie. Thank you for another wonderful episode! ❤️

A month (?? more??) ago I saw a quick Laura Nelkin video demonstrating this little tool. I’m wayyy behind on her videos AND kits/projects … You’re moving right along on that Crochet Train! My Crochet plan (… for sometime soon I hope…) is to take allll the mostly acrylic leftovers, hold 2 to 3 strands together (+ large hook) and make sturdy, large sc baskets. Probably to hold more yarn. I think my stash is multiplying exponentially when I’m not looking. Oh wait… I did get a sweaters quantity recently. Then a few cowl kits … and I better stop right now. The Granny sweater colors are gorgeous, will be beautiful on you !

I have 10 great grands and knit mittens for them and make I-cord idiot strings for the younger kiddos and the Cord Smith would be great for that. So sorry for your loss. I lost a grand doggy just before Christmas and it's tough.

I had to do an i-cord for the beginning of my Middle Earth Holiday Countdown blanket that had to be 326 rows long. That i -cord tool would have been a lifesaver. I definitely want one! Please and thank you!

I love knitting icord edging as I go rather than adding after the fact. However, my current WIP, the stitch in time blanket will be edged with an icord once I have completed it.

Oh I’ve been seeing the cordsmith on instagram and been thinking I need to invest. I started an i-cord and pompom garland for our xmas tree but ran out of steam on the icord. This would be perfect. Thanks!

So sorry about your loss. Our pets can be as comforting to us as our children. Enjoyed the podcast as usual. I have been looking at the cordsmith and thought it looked fun. I am making a bag that uses I cord for the drawstring and thought it would be nice for that😊

Hi Lisa, I'm sorry about the loss of Kit Kat and understand how that can bring up other grief. Your blanket is looking beautiful! I've mostly used i-cord as an edging or to mimic nipples on knitted breast prosthetics. That i-cord device looks interesting and I can see why it's so fun to use.

I had to laugh when you said you hoped we weren’t having to rip too many things out! I sewed about 16 hours on a quilt for my daughter on a new sewing machine. I didn’t check the settings on it very closely, and so now I am ripping it all back out because the sew allowances weren’t right and so the rest of the quilt wouldn’t go together😳. I Jon it’s not knitting, but I was ripping out while I was watching you 😂

I’ve done I-cord but mostly for hat ties. It usually doesn’t come out even but yours looks nice. I would be interested to see if it could be used to attached I-cord.

So sorry to hear that KitKat passed. Good for you taking time to go visit your momma out of all that. I have been making soap sacks to donate to our local homeless community. They have icord drawings to attach them to their backpacks and dry. I’ve been looking on many sites for a Cordsmith and they are always sold. I’d love to get my hands on one.

Gosh Lisa, I know how much we love our pets. Kit cat had the best life with you all those years and your love extended right to the very end with him in your arms. We lost our very old dog recently, so the house isn't the same without her. The cords with sounds great. I'd like to try it to make place mats... in cotton

I'm sorry for your loss of KitKat, I think it is healthy and important to share these feelings, and you are in my thoughts. I made an I-cord tie for a pair of shorts that I knit and have done borders on shawls but would love to try the Cordsmith to help with edgings on future shawls.

I'd love to get a Cordsmith, I've tried to go on and order a couple times but it is always sold out. I just cast on a new blanket that was 316 sts of Icord cast one, would have been amazing for that. 😉

Hi Lisa, I just finished an i-cord for a hot water bottle cover that didn't really need it but it's pretty :-). Thank you for thinking of us and offering a giveaway. And thank you, lovely you, for your generous, open nature. I'm so glad you can share your heart's journey with this community. Sending you love and hugs as you ride the waves of grief - and such welcome solace in crafting, as we do - even when it needs ripping out, we've all been there 😅- and Lauren may be the queen of beads, but I think of you as the queen of self care, showing such kindness to yourself and reminding us how important that is - I love the devilled eggs story, and stationary supply shopping really IS medicine, so true! - and booking that trip to see your mum, yay!! - good for you!! Big hugs! Take care ❤
