She transmits such an intensity. So hard to explain but one is mesmerised by her dancing.

Margot, Lady Margot - a truly inspiring, gifted, dedicated, heroic and humble ballerina. Some other ballerinas complained that her mere presence stifled their careers! Sorry ladies - she stifled no one. She was merely the very best for a long, long time; memory of her heroic life and amazing work will be admired forever, (I do dare say)+🎆

She's the only ballerina that I believe when I see her dance. She encompasses a role and it's all hers. She becomes the character. I can't say that is true for other ballerinas. They may have all the technique and flash, but I don't believe them. They are just athletes in a costumes to me. But when Fonteyn dances, she's 100% believable as that character. That's what makes her an artist-not just a dancer.

As I just watched a spectacular ballerina perform the Black Swan with extraordinary technique, I come to this. I've seen it before and I will see it again. Will I go back to the Black Swan...maybe? However, this touches me far more deeply and throughout much of it she's sitting. I feel ever humbled and elevated when I watch Fonteyn.

Was she one magical lady. Or what??? So utterly divine. She and Rudi would still be. A Listers if they were still alive today.......btw. Was Rudi present at this farewell appearance for her?? Wonder why he wasn't shown. Their Marquerite and Armand was so romantic. Nureyev so Dashing and Debonair. You could eat him with a spoon ....right out of a classic love story novel.....it would of been wonderful if they had.a final dance together. 😢

I remember her hosting a series on PBS about dance. And I am surprised she didn't get the Kennedy Honor.
