Super video! I just suffered a BIG oil leak which after cleaning up & topping up the oil, I could not reproduce the leak. After watching your video, and much head-scratching, I have come to the conclusion that the separator is blocked, and that the over-pressure caused by this, popped the blank out of the rear dipstick pipe, leading to oil spraying everywhere. I guess that eased the blockage, and then when I topped up the oil, no more leak. I will order a new separator 🙂
Nice video. I will do mine soon. I also have a coolant leak at the left side junction of the coolant pipe behind the separator. Have you seen this too? Is there just an o-ring there?
The oil sparator is only a piece of plastic with gaskets. Why not only cleaning and keeping the original oil separator and changing the gaskets by new ones?
Great video. I’ve just bought an A2 with a nasty oil leak (it’s all down the bottom of the car from right hand side of engine. Did the separator solve the issue? Also did you have to drain the oil before removal?
