This is one of the most well engineered cars I've ever seen. When someone says its a multi million dollar car, you would immediately think trailor queen. This car says road trip. Very well thought out.
Very rare times when you can say that something is so perfect...this IS that time. This is the most perfect 55 Chevy, or most perfect vehicle ever. The engineering and final finish is absolutely perfect. The colors go well together, the WHOLE THING IS PERFECT!
Other then my 70 Cuda the 55 Chevy is my all time favorite car, when I was a kid my father had a red and white 2 door hardtop I absolutely loved that car. This car is an absolute beast ....geez ! What a build ....what a sound! Shawn you have no idea how much I look forward to all of your videos....they really give me a break from this crazy world !
@@AutotopiaLA I cannot believe the level of detail.....the seat set up is similar to what I always wanted to use, although I envisioned Mercedes SL seats with the integrated seat belt I love the idea of it visually neat and also the belt being tight around the shoulder. I have to say IMO that truthfully the level that this car is done is beyond anything you have shown before I know you had a 49 Ford I think that was 7 figures but this build is by far the most extreme.
Spectacular car but I view it more as a work of art , a museum piece , over a fully functional automobile . While I appreciate the thought and the amount of work & attention to detail , that goes into building a machine like this I'm more of a driver kinda guy .
I have a 55, I built her frame off every inch, to go over all the details in this one is mind blowing, I'd be too worried about taking or leaving it anywhere, I have mild strokes and become homicidal whenever someone gets too close to mine so I can't imagine being the Mom to this one🤯

@@hondamancl450 totally agree, I keep reminding my wife that all this crap we accumulate doesn't mean a damn thing when we're pushing up daisy's, the only thing that is gonna matter is how we treated others, what knowledge and wisdom we obtained and most of all if we lived a somewhat righteous life, I even have proof that we don't take anything with us, I got my Grandpa's/ who I loved very much and cried like a baby they day I found out he passed away, when I was 42 he was 86, but anyway he didn't take his old beater 1999 3 door GMC Sierra. Yes drive that car and enjoy it, it would be ludicrous to make it a museum piece!! But everyone's different and some people might be to nervous to drive it so it would make them miserable instead grinning ear to ear like I would be😜
I can't even imagine the anticipation of the day when this thing hits the streets for a real cruise. Absolutely beautiful, great job on a car that's seen all kinds of iterations over the years.
The looks and sound of this car just screams "bad-ass" in every way! I would have LOVED to see that darker brass trim on it though. Brass with the blue and those wheels just fits.

He was indeed....he was Barry Whites designer and parts orderer for quite awhile..... he does have some skills....i however would like to applaud the skills of the folks at Gabe’s Custom Interiors..... I think those guys deserve way more attention than they get..... in most shows they’re just a footnote yet without them these cars wouldn’t look anything like they do.....
@@AutotopiaLA Agree, most folks have no idea what goes into a build like this! What's amazing is the eight years it took and how "fresh" the design is. I think the designer used to work for Barry White and I remember his work being something then. Now, it's throw down spectacular!
I'm currently building a 55 on a budget and THIS is what can be achieved with a true designer on your build team and lots of cash. Absolutely stunning. Details are key to unique builds. I remember an episode of bitchin rides where Dave said something about parking your 55 beside his is not a good idea. Ha. Not knocking Daves 55 because there is a huge difference in Ridler builds. I'd love to see it in person

It got absolutely robbed. The car that won didn't even have all custom parts.. They only won cause the show was trying to send a message that not only multi millionaires can win, so they gave it to an inferior "family" built car.
wow......just......wow...... It doesn't matter how much i hate the wheels. Or how much i DETEST the color brown. The meticulous nature of the owner/builder is what made it come to life. As a meticulous perfectionist myself i respect the shit outta that. Just wish the car had like white interior and chrome wheels on that blue. But it aint my car. Absolutely phenomenal build man. Phenomenal.

Usually these customs cars have upholstery done in a way that does not look like factory. This interior literally looks like a factory Bentley interior if not better. Nothing else to say. Simply a work of art Stunning build.

That is the most beautiful Tri-5's ever. The attention to detail was just awesome and the front end being smoothed downward is such a nice detail and the V's in the interior. Would love to have a brother copy of this car!
I have an uncle bought one when he was 19 years he finally restored it 30,000 +++ it cost him ...restored back to original ...super clean crazy u don't see much of these 55 chey's belairs you do ...
Thankyou for sharing this video. The craftmanship, the engineering. X FACTOR. Im a big fan of 55 Chevy. We had the 4 door blueflame 6 cylinder. In the 1970s. It was all my parents could afford to carry around a big family. Appreciate and respect your work.

Once it's done the show circuit it will be driven. Can't even afford to get a stone chip in that paint. All that work deserves the trophies it's no doubt gonna get.

That is the most beautiful 55 I have ever seen 😍. They were robbed of the Ridler award, it is way cooler and has way more custom one of a kind parts on it then the wagon that one. I don't get why it beat out this 55???? The interior is the best I have ever seen, simply amazing work from one of the best shops out there. Gabes' is top notch! So many well thought out and implemented designs.

Is this kind of talent a gift or curse? Perfectionism is a double-edged sword (and doesn't *truly* exist, outside of the *concept* of perfection, BTW). This car is a perfect example (no pun intended, but the pun is not a coincidence, either) of this self-canceling commitment to perfection in *both* areas of performance and aesthetics. This car was clearly an attempt to have one's cake and eat it too, but ultimately, it will only end up as a show car that no one really wants to drive because of the destructive effects of driving an extremely expensive one-off high performance vehicle in a high performance manner. Personally, I think TOO MUCH emphasis was put into aesthetics, but I'm a function-over-form guy. I just can't justify form-over-function, especially to this degree. You can rationalize anything you want, but rationalization is not justification; it's just rationalization.
I saw the price before the car & said “there’s no friggin way”, then I saw the car & thought “huh, that’s a really reasonable price”. Just absolutely phenomenal.
@@AutotopiaLA True! Though the sidewalls of the tires were ground smooth except for the Pirelli logo, the hairs were clipped off and then they were bathed in a "secret sauce" to give them a uniform satin finish.
when the door jambs are smoothed and custom shaved that is a pretty good indicator that this build is a whole different league of hot rod builder. up there with the ring bros and troy trepanier's of the industry. this is a sick build
That car, quality and thought process are very very nearly beyond comprehension. I am not sure if the head rests or the tail lights are my fave bits but it don't matter cos its all Uber Cool Man.

At first glance I thought a brown interior...WTF were they thinking??? No doubt that colour would look a lot nicer in person. Thanks for starting it up at least. Looks like a contender for Ridler for sure.
