Mt Cook Airlines (here in NZ) used to operate the Pilatus Porter on skis for flying up onto the glaciers. Their tv ads looked awesome with it landing uphill on the Mountain (not as steep as the one on Air America though!). I’ve got a 1:72 Pilatus kit made by BPK (Big Planes Kits) which is ironic because it’ll be tiny when built🙂
@@grant6336 I’m not even sure where I got it from but I rechecked the box and it’s definitely BPK. The box looks a bit old so it might be an older kit (90’s?).
Instead of Air America, why not do it up in the Australian Army colors used in Vietnam. The photos I have show 547th Signal Troop aircraft A14-690 at Nui Dat. You would have to fabricate the ARDF antenna on the aircraft's belly, but it is a simple disk housing the antenna.
@@grant6336 547 Signal aircraft were solid olive green. They did vary in that some had "ARMY" and aircraft number in white and others in black. Pilatus got pissed when they found out the aircraft were being used in a combat role.
