You are so kind to visit this patient to assist with that nightmare of an ear canal. You must have been exhausted from holding your arms up and contorting into uncomfortable positions to access parts of the canal for so long! I know your kindness meant a lot to the patient and the son. Going into palliative care is a bitter pill, but having people gathering around, providing care and concern is a gift beyond measure. ❤️

you’re absolutely right of course, about the forceps. they often cut through rather than grab the skin. i would think a tip that is wide & flat, or no sharp teeth would grab better. of course you would know better than anyone what design would work best ☺️ that ear is in awful condition. so sad they can’t/won’t do anything for her. i know sometimes other health conditions prevent their abilities to preform surgery, that’s really sad 😢 you did a stellar job removing all that for her, i know she feels better. you are a STAR 💫 Neel!❤

Need, kudos to you for going above and beyond for your patients. They are truly beneficiaries of your professionalism. As a GP however, if a patient is in palliative care, they are nearing end of life. ENT referral probably not warranted except maybe to get antibiotics. Certainly would not recommend CT scans or surgery which would cause the patient more inconvenience and discomfort for what benefit?
