Thank you for you support, it is very much appreciated!!! There will be more videos as I'm tying for spring now, and I'm in the process of setting up a demonstration tank so you can how the jig looks underwater.
I like the poison tail jig for swimming or bouncing off the bottom. Minnow are very prevalent around here so this pattern should really help me catch a bass or ten. Thanks your a master of your craft.
I like using Hareline brand bucktails because the colors are very consistent, bright, and the hair quality is fantastic. I get mine from Barlow's Tackle. - www.barlowstackle.com/Hareline-Bucktails-P3584.aspx
Thanks for watching!!! Yes, this one has the hole for a weed guard and I did put one in later on. I don't always use one with this jig as I like to slowly swim it along the bottom and I'm using it in areas where there isn't a lot of cover. This is one that will be used on a small lake that has a lot of dead falls and the small 5/64" diameter FG-12 weed guard helps get it through some limbs that I will encounter.
smalljaw not a problem. Was thinking of buying a poison tail mold. Was just curious. Didn't remember seeing 91768s any smaller than 1/0. Also, what do you use for base pins for the FG12 weedguards? Thanks.
Daren, I went to speedy metals and got the 5/64" round stainless 304 rod. I purchased a 2' length and then cut 1" pins out of it. I'll put the link to it here. www.speedymetals.com/pc-1838-8270-564-rd-304-stainless-steel-cold-finished-annealed.aspx
