To add to that… If you want that manufacturer warranty intact just make sure to stick to manufacturer install specs. Unilock which I mostly use is 2% slope. A bit steep in my opinion but also ensures runoff if there happens to be a slight discrepancy in the poly sand. Nothing beats a quick rain shower and watching the joints flow and steer the water where you want it.

Good point, they always get people in the fine print... And I totally agree on how satisfying it is to watch water run down the joints perfectly. 👌 ✌

Glad it was helpful! This is a simple thing that very few explain correctly. Once you understand the concept behind it, you can apply it very easily... Good luck with your project!

I'm in the middle of digging out my 14'x25' patio and I'm trying to figure the pitch out right now. I have the 1/8th pitch going the 25' direction, but the 14' side butts up against my porch. My porch has a significant slope to it and the pavers wouldn't align with the entry if I do the 1/8th pitch. The pavers would be 2" higher on one side of the entry. How do you guys join the 1/8th paver slope with a pre existing slope? I appreciate any advice!

So an 1/8" pitch is the ideal slope but you can make it whatever you want. If you pitch it to meet the existing porch, it may be a little heavy on the pitch, but you can do it. The other option is to put a step in somewhere but it would be a very small step. So I recommend meeting the grade you want to meet and see how the slope looks and feels, you might be fine. There are numerous jobs that I put more than an 1/8" pitch for that reason, to meet with an existing surface. ✌
