1-99 Mining Guide 2023 OSRS - Fast, Profit, Efficient, Roadmap! 

Unlock the larger Motherlode Mine sack last, not first.

Mining was my first 99 through the Motherlode mine (from 60-99), took quite a long time but it was worth it. As an ironman, the amount of resources it gave me was invaluable. I smelt all the ores at the blast furnace to make plate bodies to high alch for gp; giving me enough to buy gold ore to max my second 99, smithing. With the gold bars I had left over, I went up 40 crafting levels (45 to 85) just by smelting jewelry. With all the gems I got from the bags, I ended up making at least 3000 units of teleportation jewelry; of which helped me to get the resources I needed for my third 99, construction.

You forgot to mention, for Gem Rock mining, wearing an amulet of glory sharply increases the rate in which you mine gems :)

No need to hold down spacebar when 3tick mining. Just have 1 clean herb in inv and it wil start instantly, giving you 1 free hand. For backup herbs just bring your herb sack with grimy herbs in it, taking 1 inv spot (when losing a herb, take all out, clean 1, fill herb sack with rest and your good to go again)

Back in 07, mining was my favorite skill. Now that I know way more, it's one of my least favorite

Adjustments I'd make: For people who value collection log achievements and item unlocks, I'd start with motherload mining to get the outfit, make sure to mine 240 unidentified minerals in the mining guild for expert mining gloves, by then you'll have like 80 mining. Then collection log volcanic mining, shooting stars, and guardians of the rift.

With a charged glory you can make gem mining better xp/h since it makes you mine them faster.

Keep up the good work! If possible tho, if you are talking about places where to mine the best (like the 3 mine ore spots), can you specify it somewhere? I don't know where those places are. But for the rest, really thanks for the tips :)

Amethyst is only truly braindead once you get the expert mining gloves and little known fact about mining is that once you hit 99 Mining you get a SUPER SECRET UNLOCK called Stalkholm Syndrome which is very powerful and can single handedly get you 200m mining Exp. Also open your gem bag when you are mining.

With a dragon pick and lightbearer you can start amethyst a few levels early as well

The fact that the best exp/hr without tick manipulation is unlocked at level 15 is insane. We need a mining skilling boss on par with Temporos/WT. Ik we have Zulcano, but it's locked behind SoTE rather than being a "Skilling" boss.

99 Mining all in the MLM once I unlocked it. The Stockholm Syndrome really set in after a while. Only tip I would advise is purchase the bigger sack last, since it doesn’t change your XP/Hr dramatically and the other purchases are more helpful. (Especially the 2nd Floor)

its better to use a telescope to find your own crashed star, if no one else comes you can afk for like 2 hours with just one press every 25m or so. but even if a few more people shows up you can still afk much longer than with the discord.

I needed 72 mining recently for a Making Friends with My Arm quest, literally did all of the Karamja hard diaries to unlock the gem mine underneath Shilo Village. Was sooo worth it, easy to mine, deposit box right there and a closer teleport to Duradel. Highly recommend because you will need to mine eventually, unfortunately. Easy calm mining while making money. (Motherlode mining is soooo boring and too much walking for just an inventory. Do the Karamja hard diaries!)

im currently 58. did questing for the early levels and am doing stars for the ring. I'm going to get full prospector and a coal bag and then I'm going to 3t4g until early onset arthritis

1 do quests. 2 get mining outfit. 3. Get coal bag. 4.Get dragon pickaxe. 5 Get varrock armor. 6. Get and combine both mining gloves. 7. Motherload mine to unlock second floor. 8. Mine for sack. 9. Congrats you are 80 ish mining and dont need more than 85 mining for anything more than achievement diary.

I don't know how you get your xp ranges but I'm always below them. Casual mining in the motherload mine when you're starting out doesn't give 30 experience / hour.. 25k at best.

1xp from 60, started at 56 today got about 120k xp in 2.5 hours of play time 😊

What about Zolcano?

There is a method at one of the new bosses from Desert Treasure 2, Duke Sucellus. It's only 10.8k xp an hour with dragon pickaxe and prospecters outfit, but fully afk. Only have to click once every 25 minutes so you dont logout. Very good while working or watching other shows. Easy 90k xp every day while doing other stuff and once I'm done working I can actually play the game haha.

I am surprised you haven't mentioned SOTE mining cave, the iron can be deposited there with the mining cart thats few tiles away from the rocks, also as a bonus you receive crystal shards

I’ve had my account since 2013, and 10 yrs later I finally reached 99 mining and made a lot of money. You better believe it’s my favorite cape 😂

Solo volcanic mines is very viable, it's how I got to 99 mining. Less exp than groups but you're not hindered by the time it takes to find a group, it's pretty much as easy as group VMs except you spend more time running around and setimes you just get screwed by rng and have to leave early every 10 games or so

Imo definitely leave the larger sack till last at motherload. Not really an upgrade and very expensive, also the upper floor upgrade is night and day difference for afk-ing

Volcanic mine capping is 300 points not 400 (going over gives you no extra xp). It's also much easier to just pick up the rock, mine the boulder, place the rock on the boulder until you have 300 points - no need to be running and checking vents.

you can swap left click so all you have to do is click and it will drop.

I think I'm going to spend some more time blast mining. I prefer it to all the other training methods. Sadly, I just dropped my entire cash stack on a ghrazi rapier, so I've been collecting my 40 free dynamite every day until I get 804 dynamite, then I'll do a run

Alright I did 46-99 mining only in MlM was it worth it? Yes to me, I made around 80mil GP, I only left the mine once to sell things for a dragon pick, although there’s very generous players in the mine if you ask nicely/don’t beg. I got Rock golem around 65, it took forever, but I only mined on my phone and didn’t leave the mine at all from October-January. I took it serious starting December, I would do 4hrs a day, and then 17 hours a day 95-99. I mined getting my teeth drilled, I mined getting my blood drawn, I minded in movie theaters, I mined on the toilet, I mined in bed, I’d take 3-4 mile walks mining. For me this method was my fav, because I could afk and enjoy life a bit.

Mining is the worst skill ever to train, took 8+ hours for 2-3 days of non stop grinding to get from 30-60 mining, I only did it to do lunar diplomacy and never again 😭 I tried motherload but it’s honestly so trash I made more xp/hr with iron and tin

When I get 99 mining, I will tell me secret to get 45k/h with something like amethyst but 0 gp profit but 0 effort
