I've been following your channel, off and on, for a decade or so. There's a strong ASMR vibe to your videos, and it's nice to learn about these somewhat obscurer wargames.

Thanks for dipping into my journey :) may you keep dipping in for another ten years. Re ASMR sounds like I need to add a bit of oomph to my delivery. Might be because when I have actual energy I do the hobby and late at night when I have no energy I do the videos :)

@@stompie51 at the minute I just paint them, I have used Savage Worlds in the past as well as Flintloque. At tye minute I am painting a vampire, a dwarf, a foppish dwarf and an Othari warrior.

@@stompie51 yes, but the rules work for wargaming too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the longer deep dive into something like this. I’m sure it’s a bit harder on your end, but would love to see more longer videos like this. Good work!

Thanks for your support. It’s not too much work in the sense I do the videoing in bits and pieces during the week and then pull it together with audio on the sofa instead of burning time on binge streaming series. So not eating into real work or family time. Have a mega collection and picked up loads of games. So will see how it goes :) What are you working on hobbywise?

@@stompie51Awesome! Well I appreciate the sacrifice of missing on some good shows to give us good and long content. Also can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on, will be some good stuff I’m sure. Ever since your video, I’ve been tempted of looking into burrows and badgers. I might order the book, and see if I can round up a few friends to get into it.

You don’t need to go wild. The book is quite cheap on Books Etc if you’re in the UK. Then you need ten minis a side absolute tops and starter games would be like six a side. Maybe proxy with something else and see if you like the rules. Be wary of diving into it if nobody else is up for it I always say. I love it though and it’s got half a dozen at the FLGS who will play as an occasional bit of fun. But I’m the only one who has painted anything after two years of us all having a go.

@@stompie51 still sounds rather inexpensive to get into if that’s all the minis you need, in comparison to say a single gw battalion box. Shame though that no one’s painting them, almost kinda makes it feel like their not really interested that way. Looking at some of your models though, I’m surprised they don’t want too, there’s so many different paint schemes you can experiment with on different animals, like your birds. My FLGS had a unwritten rule that painted models wernt mandatory, but they wanted to see progress, like some models every month kind of thing.

I have been repainting some old flintloque figures and getting a few more and I plan on using them for Turnip 28 and Silver Bayonet.

They are the most characterful miniatures and a pleasure to paint. So well done! Hope you get some games in. I’ve got a Flintloque Silver Bayonet game to be scheduled with a mate for September. I’ve also used them for Burrows and Badgers actually.

@@stompie51 yeah the last time they were used was in a game at the games store im glad there are miniature agnostic games making my old miniatures useful again lol
@stompie51

And those miniature agnostic games have some stability unlike GW games where they needlessly update £30 books every year.

@@stompie51 I’ve played it before when a friend had the rules. I quite enjoy the solo but co-op is the best part. Plus recently recently getting into historical model this gives me a reason to put these time specific models to use

@matthinton19 Ok. Maybe I’ll see if anyone local will give it a go. All the best. I do wish I played more historicals. I do have an opponent for Saga. So maybe will paint up some Vikings.

It’s saved me so much actually. Particularly when over lockdown I made the effort to piece together the random bits in the garage into something and realised I’d done something dumb like destroy a key piece of a ten quid kit for a conversion that never worked. Check out this Orc boss on boar as an example. Tusks are from bits box and lower jaw is green stuff. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X4nH4O0OcKo.html

"Brotherhood of the Wolf" The plot is loosely based on a real-life series of killings that took place in France in the 18th century and the famous legend of the beast of Gévaudan.

I’m pleased I’ve spread the word. Do you have existing minis to use as that’s one of the great draws of these kinds of rules sets, as well as picking up any other miniatures you fancy without being stuck within one IP.
