One person is dead and one person was injured in an avalanche at Palisades Tahoe resort Wednesday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office says. No other people have been reported missing.

Wow...!! I haven't skied at Squaw Valley in awhile...over the 30 years that I have. I've never come close to an avalanche. Squaw Valley is an awesome ski area. It will Always be Squaw Valley to many of us...period..!! It is an honor to Squaws Everywhere, including me...!! I'm very sorry to hear that someone lost their life there.
The Ski Resort will pay out because of their avalanch mitigation failure which is the resorts ski patrols main duty, as they take daily samples to make sure the local snowpack will hold and they deemed it safe. 99% of the time the resorts insurance quickly settle to make it go away as fast as possible and keep the case out of court both civilly and criminally.
@@samezidrovibes it’s a rarity so I guess most of the time it works.. I’m over in mammoth and the essential shoot some kind of mortars to create avalanches so it doesn’t happen while open to skiers and they get a lot more snow since it’s at such a crazy high elevation. This year has really not had that much snow so it’s even more bizarre that this was the year that there’s a deadly avalanche!!!

No comment from ski resort at this time 6 months later Spokesman for resort says "Ski resort clearly has policy written on all lift tickets its not responsible for death or injury due to weather or any other unforeseeble events." Attorneys for resort tried fo get verdict of "Act of god at trial." Victim attorney. "Show me the money" 👉👉💵💵💲💲
Why can't there be a ”LAW"that ALL SKIER'S AND SNOWBOARDERS must carry on them and no how to use it a AVALANCHE TRANSCEIVER and if caught not wearing one WILL get their lift ticket pulled or their Season Pass pulled for a month or so.Now if the Company does not like the idea of Pass Holder's getting their Season Pass pulled it would be no different than a person losing their life which means the Company would end up losing a Season Pass Holder.
Such drama. From the Lady who WASN"T in it, freaking about what "Could have happened" to the drama queen reporter with her "emotional expressions" to the instant body movements. Sheesh! Can't reporters just REPORT the facts and the story without all the "Gripping" approaches There's enough drama in the loss of life there.
Come off your high horse watching people be swallowed by an avalanche would be traumatizing to anyone especially a local who frequently ride the same runs with no issues it’s called empathy
You’ve clearly never conducted a search for a missing person. I’ve done it in the water in the military and done it in the snow during recreation. A search is stressful as hell and when you don’t get the rescue it’s even worse. Back off the keyboard and get a life.
