I completed the NSX certification but I could not understand in training about NSX. Now I am more clear about NSX theory and architecture from this lecture. Thanks a lot for your good effort and presentation.

Hello, Amazing content. Is there any major difference between NSX-T and NSX 4.0 ?. If yes, are you planning for a content on NSX 4.0 ?. Thank you
@gnancloudgarage
@gnancloudgarage 21 день назад
Hi, Sure will plan. Yes, there are some key differences between NSX-T and NSX 4.0. VMware NSX 4.0 is the evolution of NSX-T, bringing new features and enhancements to the platform. Here’s a brief overview: Key Differences Between NSX-T and NSX 4.0: 1.Enhanced Security Features: - NSX 4.0 introduces more advanced security features, including enhanced threat detection, expanded support for zero-trust security models, and improved micro-segmentation capabilities. 2.Operational Improvements: - NSX 4.0 offers better integration with VMware’s broader ecosystem, with improvements in automation, management, and monitoring capabilities, making it easier to operate and maintain in large environments. 3.Advanced Networking: - NSX 4.0 includes enhancements in networking features such as support for new networking protocols, improved performance for east-west traffic, and better support for multi-cloud environments. 4.Support for Modern Workloads: - NSX 4.0 is optimized for modern workloads, including containers and Kubernetes, offering deeper integration and more flexibility in managing and securing containerized applications. 5.Simplified Upgrade Path: - The upgrade process from NSX-T to NSX 4.0 has been streamlined, making it easier for organizations to transition to the new platform with minimal disruption.

I have a question. With new licensing model from broadcom, if a customer was using VMWare Ent Plus + NSX 4, will it be sufficient to use only VCF? Does VCF covers both licenses?
@gnancloudgarage
@gnancloudgarage 3 месяца назад
Yes, with the new licensing model from Broadcom, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) can cover both VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus and NSX licenses. VCF is an integrated software platform that includes vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite, providing a comprehensive solution for managing and automating the entire data center infrastructure. Here’s a more detailed explanation: - VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus: This is the highest edition of vSphere, providing advanced features for enterprise-level workloads. - VMware NSX: This is VMware’s network virtualization and security platform. - VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF): This is an integrated software stack that includes vSphere for compute virtualization, vSAN for storage virtualization, NSX for network virtualization, and vRealize Suite for cloud management and automation. By adopting VCF, customers get a simplified, cohesive solution that includes the necessary components for compute, storage, and network virtualization, along with robust management and automation tools. Therefore, if a customer transitions to VCF, they generally do not need separate licenses for vSphere Enterprise Plus and NSX, as VCF covers these components. However, it's important to verify the specific details of the licensing agreement with Broadcom or VMware, as licensing models can vary based on specific agreements, regions, or updates to the product portfolio.
