can you really generalize it that way? isnt that too simplified? dont the different attack stages of your opponents weapon play a role or the distance when the parry occurs? or isnt faking the direction of movement then moving the other direction a viable option? is it always wrong to run into the swing?
You are absolutely correct. This video is a generalization. Everything you mentioned are valid subtopics, and are the differences between good and great players. Practicing running away from swings lays the foundation/conditioning for the more advanced moves :)
Solid tips. Do you feel leaning backwards helps out much in Mord, it seems very unreliable. It was a primary way to get easier parries/ missed enemy attacks in Chiv.
Leaning backwards is only really good if you're trying to matrix swings. I've found it's better to try looking at the blade when they swing to get extended parries.
I remember hearing another comp player saying thay you SHOULD run towards your opponents attack, and that seems to work for me, I catch more drags doing that then backpaddling the way I used to do.
I mainly run towards their attacks if they have heavy weapons, I heard you say that this enables them to do more drags, could you give me some examples?(only if it's relatively easy to explain, no need to do a whole new video to show them.) Also, should I move away from their swings or character?
@@rafaelmrc4433 I personally run away from the swing, AROUND their character. It's best to just look at the incoming attack and hold S. Some examples of drags they can do when you run at them: cucumber, or just simply dragging more.
great vid, thx for the tips. I'm only level 70, but I feel like I'm slowly improving. would love to see you duel another RU-vidr like hatcheet or theannoyedone!
