Lots of military patches(earned) on my gear. Had an HA prospect ask about why I had a specific diamond patch and his Brother pointed out it was a First Marine Division patch that had 0 to do with the culture. Bought the Brother a beer and told some "No shit there we were" stories about our separate military service. But all in all, good advice. If you don't earn it, don't wear it.

I was legitimately just thinking about this very patch from the Corps. I’ve earned it and was wondering how that would go down since it’s a diamond and has a 1 in it. I don’t wear a cut, nor will I ever, but definitely earned that patch while in the Corps. Either way, thanks for your service Marty.

Marty McLean people should really know their histories of the world of bikers it has everything to do with bikers the five founding fathers of the nomads were Marines the founding fathers of all doctor clubs were veterans bikers 1 percenters veterans military hells Angels where the fighting squads in airplanes the Marines were the messengers on the Harleys road Bass road hard and rode through the worst of it carrying messages back and forth they come home and expect them to settle down in a normal life and it doesn't happen so they formed biker clubs to regain what they want loved and knew bikers weren't formed to be outlaws and and visual aunties but you can't create machines like that and expect them to go back to normalcy either know your histories world war I world war II Vietnam Korea Okinawa your Gulf wars your Afghanistan and Operation desert Storm all of us that stood to fight for these freedoms in this country and a lot of us fell we stand together on other foreign shores fighting for what's right and will stand together on home shores fighting for what's right

I was at Daytona bike week I wear a vest with my military patches. A man walked up to me looked over my vest and said did I serve. I said yes 3 tours in Iraq and got medical retirement. He said sorry. And asked to see my Va card. And showed him. I thought he was intrigued so I showed him. He shook my hand and said a lot of fakes out here. He walked off with saw his vest I couldn’t make out what was t said but I saw the 1% on the back of it. I walked off and got a bbq sausage. And a coke. I felt good. Biker clubs are good people. I agree. I will say that most MCs will vet fairly thoroughly. They are going to take into account tattoos and placement. Heaven forbid that you have contradictory tattoos. Tattoos are also big in telling a story, there are a lot of tattoos that aren't very well documented that will immediately explain your status, who you are, what you have done, and who you represent

What gets me , is the EDL , and political morons wearing patches and attire associated with Templers...and they are NOT inducted into any templer order...This is why some folk equate templer to racist etc...which is untrue ...A templer has studied their own temples first and foremost ( the temple being oneself) ..... Absolutely nothing to do with politics.

It would depend on what they are wearing. I am not a 1%er. Would never be in an MC. I am a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse. I'm also a retired Marine, so it will take me 10 seconds to pick up if they are posers, prior service or showing respect. The last 2 I respect, the poser I'll call out. Just like if I went to Wish and bought a HA fake cut. It would take any 1%er 10 seconds to figure me out. I don't pretend to be what I'm not, hence why I have never had an issue with any MC. I love to ride and helping children. I retired early and this is my way of giving back. The problem with posers of any kind, they get put together really fast. Only diamond I wear is First Marine Division. Earned it, proud of it and all my combat tours where with 1st Mar Div

I came across this channel and I first want to thank you . I am a Vietnam vet so I've been riding for a long time and one thing I've learned as far as clubs is that if you show and give respect you will receive respect. I do wear patches of my service and I have never had any problems. I attend bike week in Laconia in New Hampshire and a 6 of us vets attend Rolling Thunder on Memorial Day in D.C. I have been into a bar that was the bar of a certain club and after introducing myself and asking if I would be able to have a beer or two. This was done only out of respect . I think that MCs get a bad reputation and I was surprised that many were also vets. As I said respect is important. Our motto is THIS THING WE DO SO OTHERS MAY LIVE.

I can sum it up in just a few words for idiots that try to act like teal bikers that live the lifestyle and have earned their full patch! You get caught by the 1% club that operates out of an area, wearing their colors/patch or any part of it, trying to pose as a club member, you will be beat down by every club member present and what you are wearing will be cut off of you and your motorcycle , if you are riding one, will be destroyed and if it is a Harley, probably taken from you! If anyone wants to join a club, the first thing to do is ride a Harley, go up to a club member and tell them you are interested in becoming a member of their club! Then read the club rules to see if they will let you join . If you get past the application , you become a hang a round and fo errands, , ride with the club to events and just hang around the club house and basically become free labor! Then when they see you are faithful to the club they will give you a prospect patch and then you do everything they tell you to do . You will be a prospect until the president and your sponsor think it is time to give you a full patch! You earn the 1% diamond when you do something which is a felony that the club asks you to do ! Once you get that 1% er patch, you are in the club for life and that means you will do anything the club wants you to do! It is a rough and tough life style and if you just want a patch and ride around on your honda gold wing, you better join a local biker group and stay away from the real hard core biker clubd!

I'm a 30yr old biker newbie. I just got my motorcycle license this month and am brand new to riding. Despite my inexperience "on 2's" I have always been fascinated with biker culture, specifically the 1% clubs. In the neighborhood I grew up in I saw Outlaws MC members on the roads daily and it definitely had an effect on me and my perception of what cool and tough looked like. Now that I will finally be on the road with a Harley of my own, I do have some anxieties about potential encounters with club members due to there intimidating reputation that's portrayed in the media. I'm so happy there's a channel on here that really spoon feeds this culture to those like me who need to learn a lot very quickly. I think in the span of a week I have watched almost every video on your channel and I solemnly believe that all the things you've tought me through your videos will be the reason I hopefully don't get beat up in the future lol (sorry for the long winded mssg, I just wanted to express that)

Being a combat vet its always fun to run into 1%ers because they're prob one of the few groups outside the military that actually understand respect and how you carry yourself. Always got along with em when we've crossed paths. I just run a few of my old unit patches and like to ride, never had any trouble. But yeah. If I catch somebody running that shit who didn't earn it I'll just laugh at em. But some guys might see you rolling with unit patches when you never served as an invitation to knock your teeth out. I reckon the diamond patches are about the same thing.

Reminds me of my dad. He was a Vietnam vet and I grew up around his biker buddies since hed been part of a local club just called the "Vietnam vets MC" and they were loosely allied with the Gypsy Jokers. The vet club was small but the other clubs mostly respected them since the other 1%ers had alot in common with them. Theres a surprising amount that bikers and veterans have in common: sense of brotherhood, duty, and honor are all common ideals in both and both groups hate "stolen valor" when people wear badges and patches that they didnt earn

I'm not in a club, but I wear a leather vest. I intentionally leave the back completely blank. No patches or rockers. On the front I only have pins representing movies and shows that I like. I think that upwards of 95 percent of the trouble that people get into is from either pretending to be something they're not, or disrespecting others. Just be who you are, and know what things mean so you don't step on toes. Treat everyone with respect. I have a leather vest, got it as a gift. I wanted to personalize it alittle . I have video game patches on my vest, from Zelda. I even named my bike epona. Now I have 4 word patches, “ClemZen” “Meech” (nicknames) on the left and “Epona” “rider” to the right . I also have a big and bold “NO Club” patch on the top right of the vest . I probably wore it twice . Zelda fans recognized the Zelda patches thought it was awesome. An outlaw approached me to look at my vest , made sure I didn’t have no crazy patches . Check the back of the vest , had nothing on the back. We talked for like 15 mins he’s a cool dude . He talked to me about his supporter club if I was interested in joining . Cool experience

When I was going through a background investigation for a job, it was disclosed to me that The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ/FBI), considers any orginization that uses motorcycles and dons a 3 peice patch on their back is categorized as an outlaw motorcycle gang. It does not matter if it is a 99% club, RC, etc. They are all outlaw MCs' according to the federal government. Just an FYI, if your day job is in a position of trust, your MC membership may cause an issue.

The difference is a heroe act and the not heroe run away or freeze . Knowing this, is the reason a heroe dont show off . Whering a flag on your back and yelling im willing to die for your country I would say: Take a training how to handle how it is when you get interogate by the enemies. You're doing a great thing by posting this. Lots of people will wear something they don't know the first thing about, and wind up offending those whom it would be a much better idea to be on friendly terms with. My hat is off to you for that. I've never ridden a motorcycle in my life, but I get along fine with those who do because of just simple common sense and courtesy, I know how to talk to people and treat them with respect. That includes everybody on earth, and it goes for the emblems and insignias they wear, because I appreciate that it has meaning for them, regardless of whether or not I know what that meaning is. I had one interesting thing happen when I was 14. I found a WW2 army jacket at the surplus store and bought it. It was covered with all kinds of patches. I put it on and sat down at the bus stop next to an older guy who started asking me about the jacket and the patches. Turns out he was a WW2 vet. He was irritated with me and told me to take the jacket off, and that I should have my ass kicked for wearing something I hadn't earned and knew nothing about. I took it off and put my other jacket back on, and apologized for being disrespectful and ignorant. His attitude changed, and he began to explain all of the patches. Before I got off the bus, he suggested that I should sell it to a collector or donate it to a museum or something, but definitely do not wear it anymore. Lesson learned Correction graciously accepted. In your own way, you're doing the same thing for others who don't know. You're also helping to keep the peace. Again hats off to you, sir.

I rode for 20+ yrs in Az. on a Kawasaki Enduro dirt/ street, a 75 Gold Wing custom dressed, a Silver Wing, a 98 Shadow Spirit , a 99 Shadow Spirit. Over the years wore 3 diff leather vests, all sported my Honda Golden Eagle patch, retired my denim cutoff when I grew out of it, also have on my vest quite a collection run & rally pins. Never a problem with any club, including the HA. Earned respect of the Az. clubs by riding daily all yr. My wife gained respect by also riding as hard as clubbers.Maany times I & my wife wound up leading packs of Harleys because we knew the best route to next check-in on poker runs, now can't afford new rides & wife Def needs a trike.

No time like the present to get an AZ rust free bug and cut and weld a trike, or find someone on the cheap who knows what he's doing. I miss riding in AZ.

#Ghostin!!!!! Thank you for another video Sosa. I have a Harley Davidson back patch on one of my vests. It's pretty big. Then some smaller patches on the front. One says Road king and the other is an American flag over my heart. I haven't encountered any trouble yet. Hopefully wearing these types of patches doesn't send the wrong messages.

If you are a loner then don't wear a cut, wear a full sleeve jacket with nothing on the back. Rally patches and badges only on the front and maybe a name tag. This was the lore in the 70's and it still applies today. Its all about respect - of others and yourself. If you show military patches, carry paperwork that proves you are entitled to show them - it may get you out of VERY sticky situations. Stolen Valor is NOT TOLERATED. Nor should it be...

30 years ago I was doing overnights at a parking garage...my BIL, fresh out of prison, lent me a book to pass the time....it was titled 1%er...it was a pretty thick book, and pretty old....it explained all the patches, what they meant, where they're displayed, all the hoops to jump through to become a club, and much more about club life and the roles they play from prospect to the top.....it was very interesting....a MUST read for anyone thinking about starting a club or bearing patches.....if you can even find it....

All patches of an MC are earned. They have to be blessed by the dominant, approved by a COC, and even after that, don’t add it to your cut unless the dominant says you’ve earned it. That’s just the beginning. And If you don’t know what a patch means, don’t wear it. That’s the only way to avoid problems. If you ignore the advice, you deserve what you’ve got coming.

I enjoyed the video brother you have an extreme amount of knowledge you earned yourself a subscriber. Up here in Canada a lot of the organized motorcycle clubs definitely have diamond patches the ones that come to mind specifically for me is the Outlaws MC , Hell's Angels and Rock Machine MC 1% patch(diamond shaped patch with each clubs respected insignia or name inside with the 1%) both biker groups have charters in the city I live in so you can see them pretty commonly just show respect and their respectful back. However I don't know if it's considered law by bikers but I'm pretty sure it's a general rule that if you're not part of a club up here you shouldn't be wearing any identifying patches on your vest whatsoever.

@@joebone3151 I would assume if it's just your name and there's no symbolism or relation to any other clubs, then that would be fine, I would say especially in the area that I'm located in. I would try to stay away from getting a patch with colors that are associated to clubs in your area some people might get the wrong idea try to pick a neutral color

@@canadianbacon9819 yeah I'm a simple guy I just need my name if I join a club then you know I would get more patches as I earn them but really my name is all I need. Maybe a Kansas outline like you know the border but I don't know if that's a symbol. Like where I'm from where the 666 town welcome to hell. As we locals call it other crime ridden cities in America really can't say much. I've lost many friends I'm not even 21. I done my fair share of knarly shit. Only one of my click to not get caught up. Prolly cause I don't go out flaunting. Good luck brother my town knows me but you don't.

I grew up in this culture but i never patched in, on the back of my vest is one patch that reads “patriot gaurd” because i am a member of the Indiana Patriot Gaurd. Last year we escorted Marine Cpl Sanchez from Grissom Air Force Base to Logansport indiana and we had over 8500 bikes from five or six states show up! Thats the only time we wear our vests. You have given some damn good warning advice.

I 100% agree with not wearing a patch you haven’t earned, ESPECIALLY a military one!!! Soldiers deserve ALL the respect but hardly get any!?! That’s a load of BS in my book. To any & all soldiers who read this, Thank you for your service, you are the true heroes & I couldn’t be more proud than I am just to get to share the same country with y’all!!! I ride as much as work and life let’s me but never had the desire to join mc. I have bought patches though that have personal beliefs, and ideas. I don’t wear a cut it’s full jacket for me, just don’t want to put any patches on that will get me too much attention by the mc, if you know what I mean. So the patches are put away and I ride slick.

I think any recommendations about showing Respect is always a good thing. I always say that less than 2% of 1%er’s are criminals, yet 100% will knock you out for disrespect. How many young men would be alive today that are in the hip-hop scene playing gangster on their computer talking shit 24/7. If a mentor or elder taught them that type of protocol in their culture, they would be alive today. I grew up with the purple and yellow gentleman in the San Gabriel valley and most were veterans and extremely solid men that looked out for me and my brother when my dad was in the hospital, (raced cars in Pasadena). I always tell people that when my parents divorced and my Dad moved to Hawaii and died a few years later, the 1%ers came over for the funeral. Not even all our family came out for it or his business partners in California. But the MC members that drove trucks, worked construction, and built bike parts, (not wealthy), made it a priority out of Respect to be at the funeral. Those are the types of values we should be passing on to the next generation. (They teach kids to snitch on their friends and family these days and make straight males feel like pariahs. We should institute the draft again and make women and transgenders register for the draft so they have equality). Lol. Respect
