Have to give the FC Köln supporters props. Even when they were losing, they were still singing. Many supporters of other teams, including myself (Gooner) could learn a lot from this. No wonder Podolski loved playing for them.
+o0musique0o I don't believe that this has to do with the DNA of the Gunners fans, it's more that Arsenal plays for decades now on top level and everything else except a title itself is not thrilling enough for the audience. As a Cologne and Leeds fan in England, i experience exactly that thing, both clubs have fans hungry for top level (to be fair both cities have pretty passionated supporters.North London on the other is a bit too posh to go mental on such a level). But imho kind of a "cure" for Arsenal would be to lose the touch to the European competitions for a couple of years (no matter how harsh this sounds) and then get hungry again for success. Sometimes being in the role of an underdog gives you extra strength in a magical way 😉
They once were like this actually, but rise in ticket prices in PL clubs (even more so the top PL clubs) stopping the average working man not being able to afford the ST prices, along with strict stewarding I.e, telling you to sit down and sometimes shut up or else you'll get kicked out has stopped English fans being anywhere near this these days.
Rather sad that your oh so big Arsenal couldn't deciode the game until the 83rd then. ;) I hope you go to CL again next Season so Bayern can rape you again.
they're not hooligan's, they're just hyper active fan's that just wanted to get in, our fan's never got hurt, the cologne fan's were more going toward's the police, we probably would've done the same.
Song at 4:56, cologne city hymn! They sing the last verse and part of the refrain. Klasse Vorstellung, Lob an alle Kölner die da waren! "Our kids don't play on green lawn And if one falls on his nose Those lumps and scratches You fix them together then its over. Whatever may happen One thing is for sure The best thing we've got And have had for all these years Is our neighbourhood Because there people still stick together Whatever may happen In our neighbourhood"
They are awsome fans. I watched the game and they were so loud. Got a soft spot for your team now. Wishing u well in the your success back in Europe and Bundisleague
Man Utd Lists . To be fair thats what its like when the Toon play away. Same for your lads no doubt. Its our home atmosphere which is shit. Real supporters travel away.
See here the difference between the island and the rest of Europe. Normally uk clubs have the numbers and other European clubs have the volume. Remember when Ajax visited old trafford for instance. In this particular case...absolute madness. Enormous numbers. Never seen something like this. I visited the Fc Koln-Wolfsburg game last February and the crowd was quite intense. However, certainly not comparible to what happened last week. Greetings from Amsterdam.
Seriously this shows that Arsenal need a singing section. Our away support is brilliant and if we had people that sang throughout the game in one section it would create a much better atmosphere. But beggars cant be choosers especially with Kroenke in charge who doesnt give 2 fucks about Arsenal
The description says "Ultras", but those aren't ultras, those are really passionate and honest supporters... You really can't tell what a negative term "ultra" is, can you?
Until the club gives us a singing stand, Ultra stand if you like, they should let more away fans in like this as standard, breathes some fucking life into the place.
