MapleStory is back again, only this time...we're travelling to another dimension!
I know it might be hard for a lot of people, but nobody said change is supposed to be comfortable. While I do miss me some old maple, I think there's plenty good to be seen from Maplestory 2. I feel its music does a good job mixing some sugar, spice, and everything nice of new and old.
As always, I hope you'll enjoy this euphoric journey with me, especially with the dawn of MapleStory 2 on our horizon!

@ExoPhantomFalcon It's dead, Jim; or at least the five global servers are, as well as the japanese one. Korean and Chinese servers are still up, though.

I still miss playing this game till this very day. I love coming back to this playlist to reminisce about the stuff I did on there. I really wish this game continued in global, what a hidden gem this was.

It literally feels like a 2018 version of MS1 and I love that. I feel like I can recreate my childhood Maplestory memories in Maplestory 2 as an adult. Extremely excited for the release of Maplestory 2.

Yep I'm really disappointed. They ruined the game a long time before they closed it anyway. Terribly poor management of the game. It had such potential and they threw it all away. Oh well, even though it's sad it's time to move on.

I don't think nexon made them. Nexon published the game, nsquare developed the game. And since ms2 is still a korean product, the music team is probably koreans aswell.

I'm kinda sad for MS2, I'm a MS1 Player, but I feel like apart of me has been ripped off... Something I know and love.. just gone.. even if I always played MS1 and barely in MS2.. it still hurts.

Man I'm not gonna doubt how many things wrong there was in ms2 And there was alot, an INSANE amount of problems that, if were fixed sooner, could've kept the game alive for a little bit longer. All that said, compared to the trash 1 button grind that we still have right now.. Ms2 had so much life in it, this is still what I think of when it comes to mmos. Bossing, dailies, weeklies, mini games, meeting people and chilling..

Thanks so much!~ The art is really gorgeous! Paired with the music, it really feels like a magical journey! I particularly love when it reaches the remixed tunes around 29 minutes in! It's like a throwback to old maple with a little sprinkle of cheer. You of course wouldn't have known this, but it's kind of like a reward for old players who stick through with the composition hehe.

YouNoo4 I'm so glad you're giving it a chance (: a lot of veterans dismiss the game for not being like the original but having tried the beta, I feel like its a completely different experience that manages to evoke a similar sense of fantasy and wonder that the first did so well. The music most certainly plays a role in this. While not as ear catching as the first, the songs are incredibly pleasant to explore with and really help shape the story driven narrative that MS2 seems to focus more on than MS1. If you ever get to playing MS2, let's party up! (:

TBH though, it would be impossible trying to compete and completely recapture the feeling of nostalgia in ms1 anyway, and that would just be copycat. Trying to invoke a completely new experience that, not only successfully carrying the core of maple, while delivering a new perspective and feeling would be more productive.

Brings back memories... So sad, that nexon shut down ms2 servers, but it's only their fault. It was enough to listen to the community and not make this game a roguelike crawler... Stay in town and wait to be added to the dungeon...

This is sad. It maybe wasn't the best game in the world, it had it's flaws, but still it's sad that it's shutting down. I don't understand why they put so much work into this game, and then they just shut down it after 1 year.

@@majimalover1 I've been following them on reddit and there're an insane amount of negativity from the players demanding the game to be less cash-grabbing. The recent change related to the cash shop boxes was made to align NA server to JP and KR business model received so much backlashes. GM was constantly on the subreddit explaining the company's decisions. They announced the shut down 1 week after that. One of the player's argument was "it's March but the login screen is still showing snow. Just shows how much they care about the game" and GM answered that winter ends in mid March and that it is scheduled to show spring theme in late March/early April. Player ignored response and continue to complain about something else of course.

I loved this game and the people, but it became so painful after CDEV. Literally no parties will take you if you have subpar gear so it's impossible to get better.

Some of Nexon games have great BGM with peaceful melodies, but Nexon management is as filthy as EA evils that loots a lot of money from players.

CUrt Used to be! Last week, the global version was announced. Beta testing begins in May and if you go to their site, you can register to be a potential tester!

PLEASE KILL ME! I WISH TO DIE! Personally, I think it is. Even with the nostalgia factor, I think it's unique to where it's cute and fun enough to stand on its own, despite the masterpiece that was MS1. It certainly has its faults, but considering the art (which I greatly enjoy) and the amount of fun minigames this one seems to focus on, I say give it a shot!

Do you think there'll be consistently large updates? Will a multi-verse or separate game be made to avoid overworking Maplestory 2 to a fault? To join in on updates to test for updates and reduce game file size?

I never played Maplestory before but I watched the anime: Konosuba! and the story is in a fantasy world and an RPG game too, with a thief, mage, knight, and priest as the protagonists. MS2 looked really fun you can play with friends and RPG, so that's why I want to play MS2 :)
