Honestly, I would consider pretty much all of MCR’s albums masterpieces (not just emo masterpieces, i mean literal masterpieces). My reasoning being that each album tells amazing original stories mostly conceived by Gerard and his amazing story telling ablilties. The albums also have amazing instrumentals (you can thank Frank, Mikey and Ray for that), Gerard’s insane vocal abilities that aren’t like any singer I’ve ever heard, very clever and beautiful lyrics and also the ability to make you feel so many emotions all at once. Thank you My Chemical Romance for existing in our lives, a lot of us probably wouldn’t have the strength to carry on (see what i did there) without you 🖤

Elder emo here(I'm 27) but Desert Song was my go to song back in the day when I was battling depression before I got treatment for it. It kept me from harming myself. Even if it sounds depressing af, it sounds kinda hopeful. Just if any of you are struggling with things know it does get better. Things don't stay shitty forever and you do matter. Just wanted to say that.

On March 10th 2021, I had a plan to commit. The Light Behind Your Eyes is the song that I wanted with me at my funeral. But I got the help I needed and I'm now doing a lot better. But I don't think I will ever be able to listen to that song all the way through without crying. It will always have a special place in my heart.

I still remember the first time I heard mcr (and actually understood it) I was in my gtandmas basement moments away from making a mistake I could never take back. I had RU-vid on auto play with songs like teen idle, you don't know, ect. And light behind your eyes came on and I started crying and played it over and over again and just cried. To this day I'm still thankful that I heard that song at the perfect moment.
