@@Nomaybe-ei4hn no, you didn't. Gerard does main vocals and back up ones, you can check it out if you search for isolated mcr vocal tracks. Ray only sings the backing vocals during concerts.
Ray never got enough credit. Gerard is an amazing singer but his greatest talents are his creativity, charisma, and ability to connect with other people. Ray's range and vocal clarity is actually astounding. I'd say he's a more technically gifted singer than Gerard.
While I agree that Ray deserves a lot more credit. He doesn't sing in this song, he only sing in the concerts, all the recorded songs is Gerard as main singer and back vocals
@@Luke4207 Yeah. The records are reused and amplified in some parts but is Gerard, except in Danger Days. Frank and Ray do some of the back vocals in that album. That's why you always see Ray practically screaming at the mic in the lives but doesn't sound at all in the records
I see backup vocal mostly have higher vocal range and better tone than the main vocal, but the matter is the main vocal have more unique voice and better with express the music that they wrote themselves
@@megajackproductions9154 that's called a leslie rotary speaker affect. It's used by musicians and sound engineers to give that whirling soind in music.
gerard wrote this in memory of his grandmother's passing and i am currently going through my own nana's passing and extreme anger at having to deal with my corporate job. this version is helping me out so much
Finally something that actually sounds like I’m in a cathedral Basically, my friend made something like this with Sleep but it just sounds like Gerard having a mental breakdown in the bathroom stall next to yours, sorry Mikay
Imagine: You're on your way home and get caught in a terrible rainstorm, so you hurry to the nearest building for shelter - and it just happens to be an old cathedral. As you open the doors, you hear this echoing off the walls of the gloomy interior. Making your way to the sanctuary, you see Gerard standing alone at the altar, singing his heart out. Call it dumb but I found this whole idea beautiful ^-^
Long ago Just like the Hearse you die to get in again We are so far from you Burning on Just like the match you strike to incinerate The lives of everyone you know And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you'll stain Well I've been holding on tonight What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Came a time When every star fall Brought you to tears again We are the very hurt you sold And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you'll stain Well I've been holding on tonight What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Well, if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Can you hear me? Are you near me? Can we pretend to leave and then We'll meet again When both our cars collide What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight And if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight
I literally can't listen to Helena without doing the little teardrop motion at "brought you to tears again" and violently reaching forward like he does at "WELL I'VE BEEN HOLDING OOOOON TONIGHT" my emo soul literally won't allow it
His shoes squelched with every step up to the front doors of the church. The sky growled, snapping at humanity with cracks of lightning. Her grave was only feet away now. The Man's body was drenched as he opened the doors. A repulsive mixture of sweat, muddy rain, and blood that didn't belong to him soaked everything from his stringy black hair to his rotting shoes. The Man wasn't different than before he made the deal, only half of a whole with much more blood on his hands. He dragged himself like a zombie veteran walking in a battlefield across the aisle of endless pews, remembering the silence that followed being greeted by Death with the scream of a bullet. The blood on his hands never ceased, staining the rusty gun he constantly held in the same hand she gripped as the stars in her eyes died and still smiled as her brain matter leaked onto his lap. The cold mud seeped through his shoes, creating unpleasant puddles for numb feet. He was no different from the men he'd killed. The storm carried on, a parade of chaos partying above the cemetery. He found her grave. It was no different than the other tombstones. He knelt, and wept. The many undeserved pleas for mercy stuffed his brain with shame, leaving the grief sidelined. He wanted it to stop. Please someone make it stop! The lightning was reflected beautifully in the silver shine of his gun. Unlike the others, he didn't beg for his life. Didn't think he deserved a second chance. With the scream of a bullet he ended his journey the same way it began: Desperate, a gun in one hand, and with the corpses of thousand evil men. Edit: Thank you guys so much for all the likes and comments! ❤
Been an MCR fan for a couple years now and I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. Gerard’s vocals are amazing. Both main and back (since Gerard sings backing on the studio versions)
This songs always meant a lot for me, at first i just empathize with Gerard's and Mikey's lost, but when I lose my granny it became an hymn for me. Everytime i play this song i think a lot about her, and this version it just killed me. Sorry for my english I'm mexican.
My name is Helena. I want this to play at every of my events. I want to annoy my family with this song so they remeber it once i‘ll no longer wander on this earth. They should be able to memorize every word. I‘ll teach my Kids the backround vocals and they‘ll be thankful once i‘m gone to have a memory.
We need more isolated vocals in cathedrals. Evanescence would be amazing. Can’t believe this has just been collecting dust for 3yrs & had to find through TT
