Hey everybody! Happy to announce Vol.2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jdH6R_EK8FU.html Made a few changes. It's better now, I guess. Hope you enjoy!
It's like Thomas Newman somehow captured what the ocean would sound like it was made by a human symphony. It's hard to explain but whenever I hear this track it's like the ocean is telling me "Hey, there is still more out there you just haven't found it yet." Chills, plain and simple chills every single time.
Noelle B. If I’m not mistaken he hasn’t won an Oscar yet right (after... what, 14 nom?!?!?). Kind of absurd but this calmed me too much to be angry at an award show. Isn’t about that anyway, whatever he has is already a divine recognition, much more meaningful 💗
For a long time now my plan has been exactly this. If I have any amount of control over my last moments, I want them to be accompanied by Tom’s scores. They’re like my oldest, dearest friends. So many of my moments on this earth have been made more clear and profound than they ever would have been without them. They’re an irremovable part of this world for me, and I want them with me when I leave it.
Holy shit, thats exactly what i did in greece, sat in the sand while waves where touching my feet, watching sunrise, meditating, while listening to this. After I opened my eyes, i felt the most euphoric ever in my life. I will never forget it. And to everyone that ever passes by a sea, I really recommend
@@maddlava2012 I know, that's why I'm vegan. I don't wanna bother anyone, but it's important to change our diet, if one does not care about animals, at least should care for the environment
I remember I used to watch Finding Nemo when I was younger 7-8 years old constantly and this song would always calms me. It just reminds me of the good old days when I was a child without any problems in the world.
Thomas Newman has received 14 Oscar nominations for best score and 1 for best song: 1995 The Shawshank Redemption 1995 Little Women 1996 Unstrung Heroes 2000 American Beauty 2003 The Road To Perdition 2004 Finding Nemo 2005 Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events 2007 The Good German 2009 Wall-E 2013 Skyfall 2014 Saving Mr Banks 2016 Bridge Of Spies 2017 Passengers 2020 1917 Song: Down To Earth (From Wall-E) 2009
There's something about this piece that speaks to the depth of the Ocean- the loneliness of a seemingly infinite expanse of the undiscovered. This gets to me emotionally. I can't describe it- but I feel awed, terrified, and humble when I consider the deep places of the world. It reminds me of Carl Jung's comments on the spirit of the depths. One is right to fear this spirit. Deeper things than we can ever know lurk beneath the surface of our being.
To be honest i love this kind of musical disney theme more than the ones that have lyrics like in Frozen, just pure Orchestral pieces that takes you out to the magnificent scene given by the movie. We've come a long way from Finding Nemo to Wall-E then to Frozen. And i'd say i think as a kid who was born in 2000 i felt old already and i can't relate most of disney's taste right now.
Tbh I kinda feel the same way with other media, technology(in the last 10-12) years has really made a great impact on our lives, families etc. in good and bad ways. So with me still having experienced "old tech" cassets (dvds were more expensive) and not having internet at home until the age of 10, first Phone beeing a dumbphone and so on I belive that our Generation ca. born around98-02 was one of the last to still have a mostly analouge childhood.
@@rafaelvarga8185 facts man. It’s so weird when you think about it, we were the last ones, it‘s never gonna be the same in our future generations, as you can see right now, the kids who were born past our time... I was born 2000 and I‘m really glad I was able to experience that, nowadays you would call it „old-fashioned“ way of a childhood.
i love it too but i just have to say it- this is a pixar film- the People at pixar made it- they put their heart and soul into it- its their film- disney just has distribution. you probably don't like Disney because disney had been shit fire decades- pixar is the gold standard
@@jdbhatts2912you are right, people usually give more credit to Disney than Pixar unfortunately, and tbh the only masterpiece that Disney has ever made as a movie is Big Hero 6, while Pixar tends to be more original and they made a lot of good movies
I heard this from my brother's phone and I was like oh he is watching finding Nemo. Then I kept waiting for Marlin's scream that is when I figured out he is just listening to this music.😅
@@lizzytheepiclizardgibb9571 He flies under the radar because he's the master of underscore. The music enhances the given scene without you noticing. The way it _should_ be done. Subtlety.
Am I the only one getting a sudden urge to cry listening to this? There's something in Thomas Newman's masterpieces, especially when I listen to this piece, that instantly makes me cry my heart out. It's kinda like an automatic response. It hits me so hard it feels like I'm grieving.
I fully expect this to get some hate, but... I made a poem because I felt so strongly about this music. About the Ocean. Ocean Do you ever feel That overwhelming humbleness That green and blue wonder At the depth of awareness? Do you ever feel Comforted by that blanket The one so cold and receding Yet warm and inviting? Do you ever feel That urge to step forward Into the unknown if only To grasp at the expanse of nothingness? Do you ever feel Empty and afraid Overwhelmed by the burden that Always haunts us all? Do you ever feel you need a friend? The Ocean is a mother The one that gives all that we need Yet takes when our hubris rises And we fail to see. The Ocean is a stern hand Making firm her boundaries Yet guiding us to where we need to be When we cannot know. The Ocean is a dying thing Endlessly filling itself with life Yet dying faster than it can grow Because of our action. The Ocean is a friend One that comforts and warms us Yet reminds us how insignificant we are In the grand scheme of this planet. The Ocean is more important than us.
Finding Nemo is my favorite movie of all time. I'm so intrigued by the ocean and every time I hear this music I go a little quiet thinking about when I was 8 years old and I had no worries.
I have Thalassophobia, Fear of the deep water, creatures that I don’t know.. the darkness underwater that you can’t feel with the tips of your toes. But this song, reminds me all there is.. it’s just life beneath me, and creatures singing too. We humans can’t hear those sounds, but we can feel it through insideout of our hearts, How many drops of water are in the ocean? How many life is there? All these questions with no answers.. but all I can say is, It’s Life :)
Wow.. just realized I was 8 years old when I watched Finding Nemo. This was one my favorite instrumental parts in the movie. Brings back so many memories and the simpler times...
His music touches the sublime. Like the highest of art, it evokes seemingly contradiction. His music sounds the same, yet it is beyond not repetitive. It is like findings an endless supply of rubies. All beautiful. All the same stone, yet different shapes. But that endless beauty coming deep from within each and every one.
This is truly art and a masterpiece, whenever I hear this it takes me away to a place other than here. A place free of debt, worry, and sadness. It takes me to a place that's welcoming. A place where I can rest, even if it's just for a little bit.
This melody remembers mi to my son when he was just a small child. We used to watch Finding Nemo over and over again... And I carried him in my legs... Now he is an independant teeneger... No longer loaded on my legs any more...... :(
I really want 3 minute pieces elaborating on this track and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2BkLc5POMxg.html They end and I'm like, then what?! lol
This soundtrack makes me feel so calm and relaxed, the ocean can be such a beautiful place but the people don't seem to appreciate it that much anymore.
I mean, there is only eight notes in an octave, but he is able to express with them so much: hopefulness, sadness, desperation, tenderness, grief... even happiness. That's not just a music. That's magic.
I'm still in disbelief how Thomas Newman did not win the Oscar that year. This has to be one of the greatest scores ever composed. How do you not give it to the composer who was able to so masterfully capture the voice of the frickin' ocean is beyond me.
Thomas Newman captured peace. This is what you would hear if you swam through a deep part of the ocean. It is not just music, it is a way of life. This is the ocean telling you, "Calm down. Relax. Just pause for a moment and don't think." Whales hear this when they live their lives, and now we can hear it in ours.
yup so I played this when my dog was dying of old age. he was nine years old, a great Dane/mastiff mix who had been there for me over half of my life. he was really going through it and had collapsed on our lawn in winter, and it was 10 pm so in the cold night I put a blanket over him and hung out with this music playing for about two hours. next morning he died in my arms but I'm so glad I could be there for him and we listened to the calm rhythm of this beautiful music together before he passed.
This is the sound of nature, gentle but indifferent, moving on and adapting no matter what circumstances arise. Flowing, growing, but always reflecting on where it came from. Even the tallest trees were once seeds in the dirt, the most complex creatures in the world were once microscopic germs floating in an empty abyss. It is change, patience, and stoicism, being at peace with whatever the universe gives you.
This song for me means vulnerability, fragility, peace, and mother's love. When we come to this world with eyes closed. We dont know yet what is going on but we feel protected by love.
To me this song just make my mind and body slow right down and I just wanna keep swimming in the deep ocean as far as I can to get away form all the troubles and stress in life
You and me both. I just feel so out of place with where the world has gone with technology and progress. Anyone born before 2000 had a simple life before phones just messed everything up 😥 I hope one day I or many others can make it a priority to bring back the beauty of feeling human again....
What I love about Thomas Newman is that I can listen to this and I will hear other parts of Finding Nemo, obviously, but there are also shades of Road to Perdition, Cinderella Man, American Beauty, Skyfall, etc. And in each film, his placement of notes used in other films still fits and applies to the film in which they find themselves. He will get his due, though it will be vastly overdue.
I put this music on when I sleep. It's so calm and sad and dreamy. I get lost. And feel so far away. And Completely disconnected with the real world. I feel myself in the ocean with the creatures, the whales, the jelly fishes, the sea turtles, the colourful corals ❤️so wonderful ❤️
tell me about it, whenever i listen to shawshank redemption "compass and guns" score it makes me feel like going far away from this world and starting a new life
Back in my childhood days when i cannot swim and was terrified of the ocean but at the sametime i love the ocean so much, reminds me of my dad and me going fishing together in early morning on our small boat, the ocean is part of our lives ❤️❤️🛥️
This music gave me the strength to go scuba diving. I was always afraid to swim away from the coast. But snorkelling and later scuba diving helped me to see how important and fragile underwater life is. There was even a shark around during my first scuba diving.. but I just felt fascination.
This uplifting music always played in Finding Nemo when they were reaching a vast, open part of the sea or were dreading hope in a seemingly hopeless situation. The music for Nemo is so perfectly composed, it fits every mood
Merlin: AAaaaaaaaaaa Dory: come you gotta try this Merlin: will you just stop it Dory: why what’s wrong?? Merlin: were in a whale don’t you get it Dory: a whale?? Merlin: a whale because you had to ask for help and now we’re stuck here!!! Dory: you know I speak whale Merlin: No your insane you can’t speak whale I have to get out I have to find my son I have to tell him how old sea turtles are!!! *crys in agony*
it's hard to explain. It's like everyone wears some masks and tries to shape oneself's identity to adapt to society. I'm not talking about hypocrisy; I'm just talking about trying to fit in, to search and create one's identity just to feel safer, I think everybody does that. But with this music I feel completely and deeply exposed, even though I'm normally a sensitive person, it kinda gets me to a higher level of sensitiveness. I'm not sure I made myself clear ahaha, hope you can understand what I mean
Tony Marescalco yeah I see :) because I have the same feelings, when I heard this song, I almost feels like I am in a dream x3 and nobody bothering me around :)
Newman has an ability I don't think I've heard in any other composer's work - the power to put you in a state of ease and melancholy awareness at the same time. Take this piece, in the context of the film it's in, and...in general. It's simple, soothing, an ethereal rhythm gently rolling between repeated notes, and through its simplicity, it locks you in a trance. You feel safe, at peace with yourself and the world around you - but then the strings soar, and the woodwind sings, just for the briefest of moments, and it hits you. This song speaks of both the rhythm of nature and the indescribable beauty of the natural world that surrounds us, also within Finding Nemo itself, but paired with something like this, there's another feeling that awakens. It's a realisation. An understanding, that awareness, that accompanies every note, every crescendo of the strings, every call of that lonesome woodwind. This is all we have. This tiny little blue dot in an ever-expanding universe, our birthplace, our cradle, our home. It is inimitable in its form, unlimited in its majesty, and irreplaceable. The realisation that our world is so fragile pervades every moment of this video and this piece, and it's...sobering. There is only one planet. Only one ocean. Only one place for all of Earth's underwater wonders to thrive, and it is the lifeblood of our world. It falls upon us to work towards its preservation, so that future generations can see the unmatched beauty of coral reefs, or pods of whales in harmonious concert, or all the myriad lifeforms we have yet to even discover - and so that such sensations, such discoveries, sounds like this, are not made into the subject of what-could-have-beens and mournful remembrance.
This is Amazing! I've wanted this for years! I can't tell you how many times I've put this track, from the soundtrack, on repeat, and played it forever! Thanks for making my day! :)
I can't even explain what kind of feeling it gives me. That's just awesome. Makes you wanna dip in an unknown ocean. 😻 I feel the same for almost all of Thomas Newman's pieces. Love him❤
This song reminds me of when I first went to SeaWorld San Diego with my dad and when I first saw the Orcas there. Also reminds me of the kelp forest exhibit at The Aquarium Of The Pacific.
July 2020 - coronavirus Covid19 is wrecking havoc on the world but an hour away from reality with this masterful piece of music makes everything seems oh so fine.
films like shawshank redemption and forrest gump motivates me about life though...btw when im listening to this score i imagine myself sitting on top of the mountains in the arizona desert or rocky mountains
yeah when i listen to this i imagine myself walking on the hills on a rainy day in the middle of the canadian rockies or sitting on top of the moab, utah desert watching the view with the sunset facing me
Hearing this calms me it's like nature is speaking to us in like a calming pleasuring manner it makes me remember the days when i was with my grandmother just to hear this is to delighting i can't explain how peaceful this is i can listen to the ocean for a long time while being calmed it takes my anxiety away and my depression i feel so happy right now 😊🐢❤🐚🦀🐟🐬🐋🌐🌎🌏🌍❤
@@Harry_Potter5972 No, it won’t. I promised I wouldn’t let anything happen to him. Well that’s a funny thing to promise...well you can’t let nothing happen to him, and nothing would happen.

This takes me to all sorts of places, both inside and outer worlds.. thank you Thomas Newman and this channel for making an extended track available for us to enjoy. I LOVE THIS x
