Hey I’m first. I learned a lot from you as a drummer. I think what really got me out of that plateau is learning these patterns and being able to do them in a 4/4 and 6/8 time signature, going into another one fluently, and being able to start that rudiment or set pattern and any noting in a 16 note formation. Patterns are Single stoke: rlrlrl Double stroke: rrllrrll Five stroke:rrllr llrrl Six stroke: (or just rrllrl rrllrl) Paradiddle:rlrrlrll rlrrlrll Triplet: rll rll rll Triplet six stroke: rllrrl rllrrl Just learn to place your accents and different notings. Not pausing where I space and accenting where I spaced. This has brought my roles, ride patterns, high hat cool tricks, snare openers, Ghost notes, displacement, and much more to another level. Also once you’ve learn the pattern make sure you use it around the kit so your muscle memory doesn’t glue to certain sounds. So substitute the pattern with all pieces of the kit and hitting linear and non linear on some hits that you substitute with a kick instead of a snare hit. Example :rrllrlk(k&crash)llrlrrkkrk Hopefully this makes sense. But just get creative with these patterns. Single stroke roll alone is so good if you can put it in triplet form and 16 note form and substitute a Left snare hit with a kick hit instead. Being completely indecent with all limbs at any point in these rudiment notings without losing the actual pattern. Btw make sure you do this with a tempo to give you structure as you practice. Also do with your left hand also forgot to mention that. Most rolls sound more fluent if you start with the left because you don’t have to pause. Plus it’ll make you immediately more confident going for those crazy notings

You're glancing at your laptop through the second round of verses, second chorus, all culminating at 15:54 when you bite the bullet and have to address something... what went down, and how did you keep the issue from intruding on the moment? Hey Daniel, Thanks for always sharing good stuff here. You really did inspire me the way you play even and that makes me want to practice more. I got a question, is there a way i can get trax for free, as in Cambodia we don't that much budget to buy all of the trax, the trax really did help my church in Cambodia. I use to find them here but when playing live, it has drums and bass except singer so it's like playing a karaoke. I know this is an odd question but just want to know. Thanks.

I would like to know how significant are these CHEAP IPHONE LENSES (3 for $10)? You may have mentioned in a different video. A gist would be helpful. I heard from a few that it compromises on the video quality. Is that true?

I mean, it does degrade the quality somewhat because the glass in the lenses are cheap. But if you're streaming from your phone to any social media source, the compression of the footage online will be worse than the drop in quality from the glass if that makes sense. The thought is for more of a run and gun use, not really a full solution to good video. For $10 they're pretty good. There are other options like a product called an "olloclip" but then you're talking $100 or so for an iphone lense attachment.
