It depends on the break in, if you're breaking in your subs free air, in a few days you can put them in a box and push them good! I broke in my little dd608d for about 24 hours and I put it in a box and slap it with approximately 700 rms and it was fine.. I just heard and tested the difference of the complete break in after some months
@@rob23241 in my opinion bass should not exceed 0! If it's easy for you, take the sub out and if you have an amplifier at home that supports the ohm load of the sub, break it in, in the house
@@OGTelisBASSchannel I'm using this on 2 new Audiopipe BD3C-15s. I have them on a Taramp Smart 3 and a 80PRS both set with the DD-1. The subs are in their enclosure built to spec though, I don't know if that will delay my process. I have only used this sweep a few times in 15 minute intervals in standard commute and I will continue. I can already hear a slight improvement in the lows. Don't wanna leave my truck running for two hours, plus the sweep scares my neighbors even down low. 😁 Might take me longer till I build a test bench I guess.
@@tornado7002 I broke in the Ground Zeros at the picture, while i had them mounted in the box! there is no problem! i was careful at the first hours not feeding them much, and i had the subsonic filter at 35hz! so they didn't play low frequencies and move 2 much! The whole thing works it just takes some time to break them in! Some people, push them full tilt from the start and succsessfully break them in! I just dont! You can watch an analytic video about breaking in sub from DD audio!
Exactly that ! I was trying to find out what it reminded me... and the closest (vert bad) souvenir was the begining of that terrific Hurricane we had here in St Martin/St Maarten in septembre 2017... ~ 12h of nightmare, almost lost my life... ~ 350mph wind - those 'vibrations' were definetly scaring 😳
Does it matter what tones you use. I just started to break in my Comp Q 12 with only 20 hertz. Would this sweep of 20 to 40 be better or it doesnt matter?
For some reason, when I generated this tone some weird noise can be heard at the same time, you can verify this through headphones! If it's the same noise do not worry
@@496c10 depends on the sub.. I would start at 1/4, or lower and check if the sub moves a lot! If not continue with the same volume for a few hours! And gradually turn the volume up!
Do I need to turn subsonic down on this and also what do I need to do with my gain and also what do I set my bass knob to? I’m new to this car audio stuff
If you are new and you are not familiar with the break in, in my opinion set the subsonic at 25hz, and break them in at low volume! Gradually after some hours of break in, you can turn the volume up and the subsonic filter at 20hz.. The subsonic filter protects the sub if your box is tuned high, cause the sub loses control at low frequencies in that case.. You need an oscilloscope or a mutlimeter, but I suggest you to let someone that knows we'll to do it!
jus bought two vxf d4 12s n a taramps hd3000 got them at 1.ohm everything all the way down on the amp finna break em in to this everyday wonder how long its gonna take
Thuth is that you'll never know when they Ara completely broken in if you don't have test equipment.. But you gradually notice that the subs Will play louder in general and louder at low frequencies! Depends also at your electricals! I pushed those ground zeros for 2 years with about 600 rms and measured them with dats v3. I changed my Amp to a bigger one with a better battery and after only one month, everything changed again.. In conclusion, gradually you have to push the sub near its limits in order to achieve a complete break in! Now, whenever I get a new, I push it at about 1/4th of its rated power for a few hours and then I go full tilt gradually! I never had a problem! Bu this depends on the sub.. Subs with soft spiders many times can go full tilt from the start!
Depends on the setup and the rms you're feeding your sub! I broke in one of my subs with this video for 20 hours and after a year of everyday music my sub finally had the same ts parameters at every test..
@@OGTelisBASSchannel my set up is a single 12 inch hifonics sub in a ported truck box. 400 RMS 800 peak on a 400rms Memphis amp.. appreciate the info. 20hrs is a long time.
I’ve always pushed my subs hard gradually throughout a day out of the box till it softens up a bit noticeably I’ve never had issues u just gotta keep ur nostrils open and lower it soon as it stinks
I just had 2 Skar IX-D4 12’s installed in a down firing enclosure hooked up to a Skar RP 1200 1D the folks at Creative Audio in Springfield Missouri said I would need to break them in over the next few days. Will this video do the trick for that break in period?❤
@@PunchLine-Studio yes, or you can play your own music, just do not turn the volume up much! Do it gradually! I would start with the 1/4rth of their recommended power!
I have used it for a week, approximately 12 hours with this tone and with real music (at a volume no more than 30%) gradually increasing the volume with real music, does it work?
@@cesarfigueroa9206 yes, I dit the same but for 24 hours at a DD 608D! I have the dats v3 and it did the fs came down but the full brake in happend at the box at full tilt! I just want to do some brake in so I dont stress the spiders! After the sub became softer, I put it in a box, played music for 2-3 not at full volume, just reaching 50% of the xmax. After that I went full tilt all day! 3 years later, sub is still strong! That worked in my case! Softer subs need less break in
@@Anon254I think home theater subs have already soft spiders, so I believe it's almost ready to bang! A few hours should be fine... Does the manual of the sub specify something about break in?
It depends on the spider pack! Stiffer spiders require note hours! In general 24 hours are enough! In my case, after 10 hours I can push subs well, without problems! I played the ground zeros at the Pic straight in the box, I broke them in, in the box, u pushed them with 300 rms each for a year without problems! They are 1500rms each though! In general, 1/3rd of the power is good for every day use until they break in! But it takes long time.. I hope I helped you, not confused you haha 😛also dd audio has a good break in guide at RU-vid!
Try to play this tone sweep with you subwoofer at free air! Don't play full volume, you may damage it! Gradually after some hours slowly turn the volume up! Eventually the sub will get softer and the xmax will be higher
Bro question I have speaker home theater 40hz and 20khz can I beak it with this? and when I play this is sounds so nice the bass just cool but can my bass remain like this if I play normal songs becouse I want my normal songs bass to sound like that
@@montrella it's a home theater sub right? I think that at most home theater subs, the spiders are pretty soft, so I believe 4-5 hours should be enough!
@@gavinguerrero9271 if the Amp has a subsonic filter, set it to about 30hz and enjoy your music, just don't push them.. It'll take more time but eventually they'll break in! At the first few hours you'll notice that the subs will play lower and louder.. After that you can push them a little bit more! And repeat! I broke in Those ground zero's in the video, in my car, just with music and it took over a year to break in completely... But it depends on the sub! My DD 608d took 5 months!
Do you know the sparking sound that comes out when you start a campfire What that means? This is what I hear in my headphones. FYI my headphones are cheap and I only use them to consume content That's all
@@faygoteo3475 it depends on the sub! I but in your case I believe 5 hours should be OK, but don't push it to its limits! The sub slowly will start to play louder and lower! Every time you notice that, turn the volume up a little bit!
@@mikehammer7915 I've tested with dats v3, an 500rms 12'' sub and after a 2hour break in, the ts parameters were almost the same! So I believe that the 2 weeks break in May happen with music, not with this video! Always, depends on the sub.
Yall doing this in the car for hours? How do you keep the battery from dying? You leave the car running? You use a trickle charger? Gimme some tips my MESO 10s gets here Thursday and I’m racking my brain on how I’m gonna let this play and not kill my battery 😅😅😅
I set my los at around 80hz and my subsonic at around 30hz for the first hours! After that I set it a little bit lower until the full break in! The final subsonic settings is related to the sub box tuning!
@@mak2wankhede after break in, you can play some notes and see when the sub starts to lose control.. Check the hz and set the subsonic a 2-3 hz above! In my case that worked perfectly
It depends on the sub! I just start to push them slowly and gradually I turn up the volume! I don't exceed the 50% of the xmax! In my case, at about 24 hours
I just brought a brand new nvx 12" subwoofer 1000 watts rms 2000 watts peak, got it on a 1500 watt audiopipe amp, I wonder why it shuts on and off ass the bass drop and it gets my amp hot, once I drop the Bass and turn loudness off it plays fine no problem why is that?
Your electrical system cannot keep up with the amplifiers needs! Also check your ground cable, you need to connect it on a good spot and make sure that the paint on the metal is removed!
Sounds like a badly connected ground, and DO NOT use the Loudness setting on your deck, it introduces distortion to your signal. Sounds like clipping, with a bad ground.
My skar zvx is loud on the lowest setting. Im playing at the bass knob on like 5 percent of the way up. It stinks. 💀 shits gonan blow i need to look at it
@@stealthslayer_yt9550 I saw mine start clipping sooner than normal at those hz, I suppose a lower quality Amp like mine, struggles to keep up at those hz
