I'm going to recommend that ranger is off list in terms of classes. You're most likely going to mow him down while holding fire during any situation. Melee and Summoner I feel would be the most viable. Minions don't working during PvP in base Terraria, so that should still apply here unless friendly fire has changed that.

Terraria with 1hp and x30 spawn rates

for some reason i assumed it was 1HP hardcore. that would have been something else

the armor sets...sure defense offers nothing. But the effects on later ones can still help...So there is a reason to use armors later on. If you ever want to even try a 1 hp run like this again. Like hallowed allows you to survive 1 hit. But that is rather far away.
