Bangkok's international and main airport goes by a few names, such as, Suvarnabhumi Airport, ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is Thai Airways home base but the airport gets a huge amount of foreign airlines visiting on a regular basis. With Thailand slowly opening back up for tourism, the airport is picking up in aircraft volume. Qatar Airways has begun using A380s on their DOH-BKK route again, showing confidence in the recovery of BKK.
This video in particular I filmed 2 weeks ago when I visited Bangkok. I stayed at the Miracle Airport Hotel and filmed this from their wonderful rooftop on a warm day. I was so impressed with the variety of aircraft and airlines. This angle in particular is wonderful as you have a great view of the final approach and touchdown as the plane basses by. I filmed these clips at 400mm as the rooftop is quite a distance away from the runway threshold. Thankfully the smog wasn't too thick and despite the distance, I was able to get clear footage of the touchdowns and final approaches of the planes! The active runway featured in this video is runway 01L for reference. I also got lucky with some takeoffs on runway 19R, which can be seen halfway through the video!
