Great engine I drove many land cruiser in the Sahara which is very hot weather it can reach 50 degrees Celsius and this engine last long time without any problem .THANK YOU TOYOTA.
Any more information on the brand of turbo? Ive read that 1HZ needs turbos less that produce less than 0.7 bar to keep reliability. Or has an upgraded been done here to the pistons?
Márcio José smoke or lack of smoke is not a great indication of your air/fuel ratio. This can be altered with a timing adjustment. If it’s an untouched injector pump (meaning you haven’t adjusted the fuel screw) then running 11psi is safe as houses. Probably in the area of 25:1 to 30:1 air fuel. I’ve maxed the stock fuel pumps efficiency at 16psi intercooled. 21:1 air fuel. I could run 30psi if it was in the turbo’s efficiency range and I wouldn’t cause any dramas. So as long as your turbo can supply the boost efficiently and you don’t over fuel it, it’s fine. Basically. There’s to much other determining factors when it come to turbo diesel that I’m willing to type in a RU-vid video comment section. But for the take away “BOOST DOESNT KILL DIESELS” it’ll pop a head gasket before it does anything else
@@kyesmithson7669 as long as it’s got good compression and the valve train is good then no it’s fine to turbo it. But there’s a lot more than just km’s to take into account. How frequently has it been serviced? Did it spend its life on the highway or in the city? It could have 100,000km’s on but only serviced twice and it’ll be in worse condition than one with 500,000km’s that was serviced every 5k. At 400,000km’s your fuel pump my be getting a little worn this can effect timing and fuel delivery. The injectors if they are factory will need replacing. If the engine and it’s components are in good working order than there is no risk other than a bad “tuner”. Don’t adjust anything yourself without completely understanding what you are doing. 1hz pumps are simple, simple, simple but they are easy to over adjust. It doesn’t take long running rich to do serious damage. I researched for about 4 years on the topic of turbo diesels before I decided to turbo mine. It goes heaps better but I’ll always be cautious constantly watching egt’s and temp gauges. And back off the throttle is temps start to get too hot
i still got mine prntscr.com/ke4ft8 over 230,000 km no major problems just needs new break rotors and front left knuckle seal. for all the work needed to do the front break rotors i am just going to save up the money and rebuild the whole front axle. never going to sell the old girl hell if i ever have kid one day when there old enough i am going to hand it down to them.
@@dRMaBUseXIV that sucks to bad there hard to come by. we where lucky to get ours from a Parks Victoria fleet sale sadly the rest of the fleet that didn't sell got scraped. i bet there are a tonne of people out there that regret not getting the 105s when company's sold there fleets as the 105 was the last solid axle 4x4 wagon they did the newer ones all went IFS. if you want a solid axle wagon they still to this day sell the 70 series but damn they cost an arm and a leg i want a 79 for the farm but its an easy $80,000 even second hand.
Just a quick question Sir, what is that black hose above the red hose for? My mechanic cut it off and put a plug on it. Just wonderin what its for. Thank you
