Would you recommend a Grenser for someone who would like to play a range of baroque music, as well as later classical? If not, what would you recommend? If such a thing exists.

I'm also looking at a Naust in 392 but believe that would be better equipped for earlier baroque

The Grenser flutes are certainly one of the best all around flutes. Ideally, a baroque flute player needs a Classical flute like a Grenser, a 1st half of the 18thC flute like a Buffardin or Denner, and an early French flute - Naust, Rippert, of Hotteterre, If you are only having one flute, the Grenser is a good choice.

Thank you very much. How would you compare it to a Palanca or a G.A. Rottenburgh as far as versatility goes?

@@uhhhsure2055 Even though the G.A.R. is from the same period, it is less good at playing Classical repertoire. Different makers lean different directions with Palanca - some are more baroque-ish and other more Classical. Both the Palanca and Grenser are VERY versatile.
