Hey folks, I'm new to BFME 2. Feel free to give me constructive advice and tips for the game. Also check out the playlists linked down below too. Ok so here’s my list for this game 1. Hero’s are the only units who’s experience carry’s over to the next levels so upgrade them as best you can 2. You are in no way gonna get every single power unless you grind for power points ideally by killing slot of stuff so pick your favorites now and work towards them 3. The evil units work essentially as fodder keep throwing units st them as you push forward and make outposts to guard your tunnels, as long as you have good income and you can continueiously throw troops in the fray they work out but again this tip is for online play as well you guessed it even though the AI is better in this one it’s still crappy once you learn what they like to target first building wise. 4. Most tips we can give you will be on a level basis each level is different and has a unique quality that you need to watch for and react to in some way. 5. For evil most of the bigger troops need backed up by lots of fodder they tend to be glass cannons even more so against upgraded troop. 6. You can bombard trees with fire arrows and it should burn them all down revealing and killing the enemy troops within the flame 7. The only level that ended up getting me is one with predominantly hobbit enemy’s there is a surprise you will find at the end of the level that if you didn’t build up a good base you are gonna be screwed 8. The building system is really interesting in this try to rotate your building to fit where you want them, like if your gonna do some tower spam to protect your base your gonna need to make them fit. 9. The most important rule is again people will tell you hey do it this way it’s the best way but this best part of this game is to find out what works best for you and go with it.

The evil campaign is actually better to learn the bfme 2 mechanics then the good campaign, also you get Nazgul

You should always build as many resource buildings as you can. Even if they only have 30% efficiency they are still worth it. Try using the space you get in an optimal way. Very excited for this campaign! Btw I always prefer the Nazgûl unmounted. But that may just be personal preference :)

Please do a War of the Ring campaign in this. (with the witch king exp if possible) IMO the best way to experience this series!

If I remember correctly, if you press simultanusly both left and right buttons of your mouse when holding your armies, you can have some auto formation.

Few tips from someone who didn't know the select all rally point hotkey. Selecting a unit and pressing E selects all the same units on the screen, pressing E twice selects all of that unit type across the map. Pressing A before moving sets the unit to attack anything it sees while it makes its way to where you selected. S is stop, O is all heroes, B is builder, ranged units are best in 'Agressive Stance' as they stay out of harms way If you went into the top left hand corner of the shire map you could have faced off against Tom Bombodillo. Shame You might have figured it out but the 'Bombard' attack focuses on a single point not a unit, regardless of whether the unit was originally there but moved. The buffs and debuffs (bats, chant, tainted land) work mostly on hordes rather than heroes (some exceptions). I don't believe two of the same buff/debuff type stack on a unit and certain heroes have abilities like 'Leadership' and 'Dread' that act as a passive power to units in their vicinity so you don't need to use a side power on those units. I would not recommend the 'Untamed Alligance' power as you can recruit most of those units yourself and those 10 pp can be used on better powers. I've heard that lumber mills can be real money makers even without the 'Fuel the Fires' power but I feel the AI heavily focuses on attacking them over tunnels. Good luck with Fornost, real difficulty spike in my opinion but a satisfying victory.

the further the tunnels are away from one another the more recources they generate, you can see how much they will produce by the percentage number that you see over them while building them, also the big red circles you see are to help you see how far the tunnels should be to maximize the recource gain. i hope this tip helped at least a little

Coming to this video series in 2021 as I am nostalgic for these games! Watched the BFME1 and good and evil campaigns, looking forward to watching through these. I need to find a second hand copy of these games!

You did great on those first two missions I was especially suprised when you used a two pronged assault given what I've seen from your first battle for middle earth series On the third mission you did well until Isengard invaded which may have been due a lack of fortifications that would've tipped the scales in your favor remember to fortify river crossings and passes when possible as it can make your life a lot easier I also noticed you used the stances which is great and can be a great asset here are some recommendations on what units should adopt a particular stance Infantry such as swordsmen and pikemen should adopt a defensive stance as they will be taking a lot of damage during combat Archers should adopt the aggressive stance since ideally they won't see a lot of melee combat in perfect conditions and you'll want them to do as much damage as possible while maintaining a safe distance Cavalry you'll want to put in an aggressive stance while having them flank the enemy archers and destroy siege equipment however this requires some heavy micromanaging and I know you are better commanding infantry and archers Another note about the goblins is that their fortresses grant you the ability to train drakes which are great at crowd control however you can only train a single drake from A fortress so you'll have to build multiple fortresses if you want more than one drake Another thing you can try is to set your units into several small command groups of two or three units so that they can be more maneuverable as opposed to one large lumbering mass Great to see a new middle earth series and I hope to see more

When you build tunnels try to get the highest percentage possible, and try to have as many as possible as it will increase your command points. And when you are placing new buildings you can hold right and left mouse buttons at the same time to rotate it, I think. And I would also love to see a war of the ring campaign.

there is absolutely zero percent chance in hell you will buy all the powers. if you want to get to even use one of the bottom tier powers, you have to plan to buy deep instead of broad. you're buying three tier one powers instead of a tier one power and a tier two power. that's how you end up not being able to get a Balrog.

You can use the bombardment option to create fires in areas with trees etc- its a great way to box in or kill enemy units.

Man I remember having this game. Never managed to figure out which mission I was losing heroes on; on the evil side.

I love this game, you really need to use the attack/move button rather than just move. This will help you a lot. Yes the higher the resource % the quicker the resource building upgrades, which means quicker it makes resources. Always upgrade banner carrier's, as when a unit has a BC they replace missing soldiers. A unit without BC don't replace soldiers. Units get auto BC when level 2.

When placing a building if you hold left click you can rotate the building

Damn it's good to see this. Wish I could get this game working

i found it helpful to build a wall hub off the fortress and use that to wall off your non resource buildings, depending on the race you can add defenses to the walls and i THINK walls built off of the fortress wall hub will gain the fortress bonuses (such as extra hit points)

so, the resource buildings also increase your command points, don't forget how important that can be--- if your army fails to achieve an objective, it might be too small, and you might need to let it die out and rebuild bigger. there's only like 8 episodes in each campaign that I remember. heroes are less broken in comparison to the enemy forces-- you really really need to use type advantage. archers are sooooooo much less broken than they used to be.

The fourth mission of the evil campaign I would recommend on attacking the left side after destroying the iron catapult near the gate with mountain giants.

Tip: You always should put your range units in the aggressive stance, and if you have the armor upgrade then all your units should be in aggressive stance for max dps.

****Tip**** If you click and hold when placing buildings you can rotate them

You can rotate the buildings around so that you can get your troops out easier. Also if you do a skirmish match and play as Isengaurd and on a city map you can put berserkers on the ladders.

A tip on resource buildings higher percentage means more resources

Some tips for u press b to get the comand of a builder and press q to get all the and u can ctrl+number on barracks for faster recruitting

I forgot to mention that you can put your soldiers into a formation if you hold down the movement button I believe. I don't know for pc since i play it on X-box 360.

I don't know if someone told you, or if you know. but i do belive you can make your own "hero" in the my hero tab on the main menu.

You can rotate the building if you click as you would to construct it but instead you hold the button and drag the mouse!

Last time I played it there were very cool animations at the begging and at the end of each mission. Did they remove it in HD edition?

hey, try out war of the ring as well and see if you like it, you can put in as many factions as you want and its like how the bfme 1 campaign map is, only you don't have story missions. however, you can still attack and defend places like minas tirith and minus morgul.

Also so,e is played as mordor no isengard I believe and also you can build anywhere

you shouldnt use the bombard ability to destroy single buildings, thats ment for area damage and not focused destruction, simple rightclick will be fine

You can use giants in melee. They have an aoe attack this way.

the only gondor units you will kill is trebuchets, maybe dunedain and some of there heros

When playing with goblins just build that tunnls more and more you can put unist in tham and spanw in every tunnel

Don't forget the RPS system. You were kiting archers with a mounted hero, he should be able to wipe them out easy.

If you build a recource building you want to have it at 100% that gives you the maximum resources

Those two games scream for a remastered version. I kinda liked the previous one though. Base building kinda destroys the immersion for me because here you build fortresses while in the first game your main base is like a hastily build monument as a invading force would do, more realistic imo. Also the story in the first one follows the movie which is very important for me. Those new heroes? The Giants and you controlling dragons? Eh... not very fond of this.
