this is what privatization does, no more community, just private profits corrupting your elected officials... imagine if those private profits that went into board member and management pockets was actually spent on ensuring service through proper redundancy investment.

After that deep freeze in Texas a couple of years ago…anyone in their right God loving mind would have left that state! If you live in an apartment with all utilities included your are a resident and not a customer. A citizen has nothing to do with the power being on or not. There's plenty of non citizens that are customers, or residents. Citizenship doesn't matter. The proper term is customer's.

I just happen to browse a committee meeting yesterday on YT. Besides, there’s ways to choose your location so you will have less chance of loosing power. Choose a house or apt on the same grid as emergency services. Like hospitals fire houses police stations. Then you will be last off grid and first back on. Also choose a location to live that had buried cables. That doesn’t mean transformers won’t go out but you’ve got a better chance. There’s always the choice to get solar generators and lil AC units. But all of these decisions are yours to make.

That CEO makes $60 MILLION per year!!! Governor Abbott has had to spend BILLIONS on our border and all these illegals Briben is flooding our state with. He offered aid to Houston right before the storm hit, but that DEMOCRAT judge Lina Hidalgo refused it, so if you want to blame someone, blame the power company and Ms. Hidalgo who likes to take over with no results, another incompetent DEI hire.

Wow, how is the natural gas pushed thru the lines?

Gas powered generators need to be a safe distance from the residence to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Only one house on my street has a yard large enough to safely operate one.. Portable solar generators are probably sufficient for a few lights during daylight hours only - when of course you can get along w/o them. Solar panels feed into the grid, not directly to your home unless you have a very extensive and expensive modifications plus battery storage systems

People are not able to work either without pay time off. It's not just about having no power at home and spoiled food, but also being unable to make food. Five days is a long time and could be extended even further.
