We do that in aikido as well ,technique is call Nikkyo ,and when done properly the attacker will not be able to punch just from the joint pain and he is right it's done on the chest not in the air.
In aikido their are several principles that make techniques work; for those who don’t know Aikido is a philosophy but the system used in aikido to develop the skills necessary to defend yourself are very practical; the 3 principles he did not apply are Atemi (a distracting hit) Unbalance your opponent. And timing and distance. Essentially get off the line of attack and move out of the range.
Many what if’s, but Aikido works best when in motion and using the element of surprise. If you can catch his grabbing hand before it gets to you then you can create distance from an incoming punch! If he grabs you, the moment you touch his hand he’s going to strong arm you because he can feel your shoulder move immediately! Again a lot of what if’s, but I do agree that the moment he touches you is the time to act quickly!
We teach that in eagle claw Kung Fu. Real good one keep the hand in place immobilize the wrist so when you bend it it hurts. The turn at the end really helps get leverage
Commander Brown has been waiting quite a long time to get that one in.😂 That’s payback for all of the times he had to be on the receiving end. It was truly realistic on this end. Your face was a little flushed😂😂😂
It's kind of hard to see just how you control/manipulate his hand with all your gloves on and stuff. Please show us in slow motion the movements you apply going forward otherwise when we may need to use these we don't want to do it wrong.
One technique doesn't make something aikido or any other martial art. First aikido came from traditional jujutsu. The difference is that aikido employs a philosophy along with the techniques that were inherited from daito ryu jujutsu. Without the philosophy it is not aikido. Secondly that wristlock technique is found in many other varied systems. Even in the self defense curriculum of Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Think it won't work? I've used it in a BJJ roll from closed guard when they grabbed my lapel. How would you use it on the street. I would strike or kick the person first before he punched me as both a diversion and momentary stun and then apply the lock if they were still holding on. Learn a technique and try it before totally dismissing it.
Morihei Ueshiba created the gentle way because in his opinion, true Japanese traditional Jujutsu was to violent. Brazilian and other sport fighting arts jujitsu is not the same as jujutsu a combat system for killing maiming and injuring n enemy combatant not defeating a competitor. What you should do is consider learning from the only channels founded by a founder that has spent the last three decades, using our training system in real life against combatants in the United States, that are attacking with intent to cause greatly harm injury, and death. This is the only channel where you can learn from the only founder they believed in his training system enough to be willing to die and kill, legally attack in the United States, armed and unarmed as individuals and his groups, and we have never lost, because in the real world loss death or prison. This is your chance to learn truth from those willing to seek it.
