Hi everyone this is Hansoo from favourgreen
Today's plant diary is follow up video of propagating Rhipsalis campos portoana plant.
About a last month, while I was caring my rhipaslis plant, I found it was rooting from the leaves.
I thought it may be possible to do propagation with a small bit of foliage cutting and I propagate Rhipsalis campos plant on the peat moss.
Fortunately yes it rooted to the moss, when I gently lift the foliage, I can see the cutting roots hold the moss. However, I feel like it was mistake that used the peat moss for propagation
The reasons is because... (you can find it on my video :D )

You inspired me to propagate Rhipsalis. I ended up propagating mine directly into Orchid mix that I purchased from Bunnings. I was half asleep one night and came to the realisation that they are rainforest cacti, and grow on trees. The Orchid mix, being heavily made of bark, has worked beautifully. So far I've had 100% success.

Awwww congrats...!! Glad to hear all your rhipsalis cuttings are propagating well 🌱🌱 I found it takes quite long for the cuttings to be like mother plant( mine looks still small..), but we will get there eventually..! ☺

Thanks for the update Hansoo. It's great to see they have rooted. I'm very interested to see the difference with the peat and the potting mix. Looking forward to the next update. And also your mother plant is growing so well! Beautiful plant.

Thank you Grace. The next follow up video will be around 1 month later and we might be able to check the difference of soil result :D

Very interesting how the peatmoss stayed dry underneath I think once the roots establish down into the soil they will take off nicely.

Yeap. I left some of them as it was, so I think once they roots down, I do think they will come out easily :)

I’m hoping your propagations did well. I’m currently going to try this with mine. I think I was overwatering because the stems got very wet and broke away from the roots. Love your videos and how you pay attention to details for us to learn from.
