I use the easyloc tool. I got it on amazon after watching a RU-vid video about it a while ago. It’s plastic and more flexible than the metal ones. It has a thinner pointed end that curves up to help prevent marrying between locs. I love it! It cut my retightening time down a lot. I used to use a small crochet hook, but it took much longer to work with.

Omg I can't believe you locked your hair! I used to watch your channel when I was a loose natural and you popped up in my recommended videos and I'm so glad! I hit subscribe so fast! Wow!!! I just got sisterlocks in 9/2019. You go gurl!!! Welcome to hair freedom 🥰🥰🥰 nappylock tool, I use suave clarifying shampoo and rosewater spray with tea tree oil and peppermint oil. I started mine 11 months ago with tapered cut as well with 2 strand twist as well and use the same tool For the shorter areas I would put the tool half way thru the locks and then feed the hair in the slots and that worked until the back grew in.

OMG! I was following you when I was wearing my natural hair in a tapered style because I have always loved the way your hair looks. Now that I’ve been debating on microlocs here you are again!! So when you first twisted one small section, it was able to stay tight and not get puffy? Amazing, they looked like you had somehow knotted them. I wear 2 strand medium micros and they just puff up. I end up making a style out of them by letting them grow out over a minth. I just spray them. I get so many compliments. Yours are beautiful. Just wanted to know...

Welcome to the journey! I have sisterlocks will be a year in come December. I have a consultant but I mostly retighten my hair on my own. I use the same tool you have and works great. I take forever to finish but feel super accomplished when I’m done. Be mindful not to reti too tight as it causes thin roots and breakage. I unfortunately lost 2 locks in my nape because of that 😩.

HELP ME PLEASE😢 Hi Miss Ken K. I will love to loc my hair. My hair is an inch and a quarter long on the sides and back, the top is six inches long. The issues is 4 & 3/4 inches of my hair is premed the rest is new growth. I had a tapered cut. Will I still be able to loc or add braid hair and as it grow start locking it. I'm a beginner but long to have inter locs. Have any tips for me. 😯

For shorter locs its best to use a latch hook when u self reti I have used curves tweezers but u gotta be very careful wit those they can snag but um yea the latch hook fa crocheting is best believe it ir not even a crochet needle works like da sister lock tool if u know wut ya doin lol

I would recommend nappy locs tool it’s great for interlocking and they come in different sizes. Don’t tighten then too tight it can lead to breakage down the line.

Hello, I'm currently installing my microlocs via two strand twists, do I have to interlock with the install or can I wait a few weeks until it starts growing, I don't understand. It is required with the DIY two strand microloc install? And it I do should I start with the 2pt rotation, my hair is most 20-26 inches long mostly 4a/ some 4b and a lil 3c at the nape. Thanks for any clarity.

Tayler Dobson my hair strands feel soft. I’m not sure if it is the shampoo that made them feel really soft or the rose water. Days after my first wash it still feels somewhat soft but not as much as it did the day after my wash.
