Im a 64 year old CIS male and I have no idea why your videos popped up on my feed - but this is the 4th one I've watched and I just want to say you're an amazing person. You are so freakin' brave and together given everything - more than most who don't have your adjustments to deal with. I know you will survive and thrive - best of luck and have an amazing life!
Your video popped up in my feed and i just LOVED how honest, real and Still positive you are!! Gender reassignment surgery IS the BIGGEST and difficult surgery to heal from!! Even back surgery is hard ... But i think what you went through is harder. And i love that you're explaining the truth of how you feel about this stage of your surgery. Super mentally healthy for you. I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing it!!!
You do such a great job at assessing the situation & giving straight forward honest answers. So interesting to hear about the recovery & pain. You are a Rock Star Girl!
I’m so impressed by your composure following what sounds like an awful and scary process. I think you are so brave. Sending loads of love and healing thoughts xx
Girl! So proud of you, take good care of yourself! I really wish you some healing, in all aspects and i hope everything turns out perfect when you do! Please keep us posted 💗
Nice you healing well! I’ve been following you for the last years and I feel happy you’re doing it! And that you’re being totally honest about the surgery. Good luck on the recovery! Xoxo
No pls when day you will regret when you grow up 🤮🤮🤮 just be happy the way god create you omg and good luck in the grave and hereafter l wish all the best
You are so brave to be sharing your experience so openly and in such detail. I hope the best for you and your recovery!! You have a new subscriber :) cheers from Seattle Washington x
Good to see you looking well! Bless your heart❤️ Sounds like you have been through a lot! Sorry that you had to be alone during such a challenging time. Continue healing, getting stronger, and feeling better! Prayers and much love, dear one!
So glad you're doing well! You're so wonderful for sharing this with all of us, I still watch your 'How to Love Yourself as a Trans Woman' video every time I'm having a rough day ♥♥
My girlfriend still isn’t sure if she wants GRS or not so I’m trying to watch and read up as much as I can so I know what she might go through and experience if that’s what she decides to do further down the line. This was really informative and helpful for partners of trans people who want to support their SOs through surgery and transitioning, thank you so much and I hope recovery goes well for you! ❤️
Not sure where she is considering for surgery. But for most it is not too bad. Typically in the uk, 1 week in hospital. Surgery on the first day, with a few days bed rest. 5 days later, catheter out and allowed out of bed, and dilating starts (3 times a day). 2 days later sent home. 2 weeks at home before being allowed out. Another week until allowed to drive. Dilating 3 times a day for 8 weeks, slowly reducing until once a week. Pain minimal. Far less than you would expect. Paracetamol was all that was required after a couple of days. Worst part with some surgeons was 3 days of a “clear liquid diet”.
A very well put together video again. This was my 2nd one of yours I've seen. Glad your doing these videos. Not really sure I could be as brave as you. Good luck to you in the future.
Maya Thanks for updating us with this video. I have been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for news. I am so glad to hear that everything is going well.
Um.... Any comment you post that you feel the need to say “I’m not trying to offend you, but...” “Not to be rude, but...” “Don’t take this the wrong way, but....” “This is not an insult or a joke btw...” Don’t say it. Because if you feel the need to say that, it probably isn’t necessary to say in the first place.
I just had my surgery six weeks ago here in the states, so I can relate to almost everything you mentioned. It is nice to hear your experience since I don't know many trans women who have had surgery. I wish you the best with recovery going forward!
Been following your channel since 2015 now, and you’ve helped me through some rough times. I really wanna thank you for that, and I hope your recovery will get easier soon. Hugs from Sweden ❤️
I’ve been following you for about 4 years and am so happy you posted. I was thinking of you this past month. It takes time but I have faith you will heal beautifully 💜
Wow 😮 thank you for sharing your experience it's really quite something, I hope you're doing well ♡ even though theres no pictures or anything just your beautiful self talking, I loved listening to you telling us your confirmation story 🥰 the insight into a trans experience is great
Agreed. No stupid outtakes, no staring into the view finder all the time, no life story explaining why her hair or face “looks a certain way today” and no “ um”/ “erm”/ “like”... very refreshing!
I’ve never heard anyone share the intimate details of a surgery like this, and so thank you for courageously sharing this. I hope that several months down the road, you’ve found that going through with this procedure has brought you every bit of fulfillment you felt you were lacking & more. You’re a beautiful, brave young lady. Continue to stay blessed my dear. Hugs from Connecticut xo
@@danny_fanta_692_9 If that is who you are, Sweetheart, then do what you need to, to become whole. It's a long, hard road. Do your research, take your time..Choose your doctors carefully. Treat yourself with love. I don't know you, but you have my love and support! XOXO, from Seattle.
I love all the information you have given. I'm just 1 year and 2 months into my HRT and have wanted to know anything I could about the surgery and you tell it straight. Your words have given me more understanding on what I can expect and I do thank you for that. You are an amazing and inspirational woman.
Finally a video telling more truth about the surgery than all of the videos I have watched on RU-vid. In fact this video has me excited as I myself am scheduled for the surgery in a few months. I want to say thanks for the most detailed informative video I have seen so far👍
Didn't anyone tell you gender is a social construct and you don't need to change your physical sex to be transgender? But please, PLEASE get the surgery. I wish ALL trans people would get the surgery, especially women turning into men. We need as many of these as possible. PLEASE get the surgery!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm preparing for GRS surgery and I've been talking to all my friends who have had it and they all say the same things. I love hearing others experiences so I can prepare. BTW you're absolutely beautiful and I wish you so much love, mental, emotional and physical wellness, a speedy safe recovery and many blessings and positive vibes 💖💯😘 be encouraged and strong 😊
One line, from the Final Fantasy VII Remake, you might like is "True beauty is an expression of the heart. A thing without shame, to which notions of gender don't apply."
Wow, never would I guessed what you went through and still are going through. You explained everything so well, while being real. I’m looking forward to seeing a video in the near future, where you are completely healed and happy with the results! Be well! 🤗
Congratulations, Maya. I’m watching your 1 month post op video, and I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage in truthfully sharing your experience with your gender confirmation surgery. I know that you are helping hundreds if not thousands of young women who may be waiting for their own surgery. I have to admit that I’m still learning about all the LGBTQ community and experience, but my daughters have been very patient and generous in explaining things to me. I watch your videos to further educate myself, just I think to be a better person. So again congratulations, and thank you for your videos. Cheers, Ricardo Nascimento
You are such a brave young lady to share with all your experiences throughout this process as well as the complete journey. I wish you all the best. Take care.
I'm happy to hear that this is going pretty well for you. I have to say that much of what you described reminded me of my postpartum experience like the sitz bath and the adjustment to the experience of being so exposed as well as the discomfort vs pain discussion. In a sense, I feel like you have experienced giving birth to the new you. I hope you experience great joy as the beautiful woman you are.
Maya I’ve been here since you started your journey. You’re literal first video...I’m so happy for you. I have faith you’ll heal beautifully and that you’ll soon be up on your feet and fully healed. You are such a great role model for Trans people!
@@paulaharrisbaca4851your existence and opinion here is not only not needed, it's also not welcomed at all. From the same crowd that yells "Stop pushing your agenda" it's pretty ironic that you can't seem to let go of trans safe spaces...Hope you get better soon of whatever is irking you to comment non-stop negativity here.
Yay your back, we missed you! I had some questions for you and messaged you on Facebook, but now I forgot what they were hehe. I'm starting hormones today! Glad to see your back 💜 ^_^
I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for you. You are incredible in every way. This vid, as well as many of yours, are so well done and are quite emotion evoking. thank you
Congrats, girl! Not gonna lie, Maya, the whole experience sounds super intense. I’m a bit squeamish/straight up scared of hospitals and medical stuff and I was feeling a lil lightheaded at points during this video! 😅
Maya, so glad you're through it. Sounds like you could write a nice little screenplay treatment about that Montreal Holiday Inn! Best wishes for a smooth, uneventful full recovery!
God bless you! I'm glad you are doing well and healing beautifully! I am very proud of you for being brave and daring! You ARE a beautiful young lady and I hope you are truly happier more now than ever!! Stay strong!👍😊
I’ve love to see a what I eat in a day post surgery video. I’m also vegan now & was worried about how that may affect my healing time. This video was so informative & i’m glad I watched it
I can’t remember if she said anything about going to the bathroom on her own after. I can imagine both peeing and pooping would be incredibly uncomfortable experiences plus you’re trying to keep that area constantly clean and free of bacteria because you quite literally have open wounds down there. Every aspect of this type of transition and healing has got to be one of the most difficult things a person could go through and I will never understand how anyone could think a person would go through it for attention or as part of a “phase”. If she does read this comment, I’m so happy you’ve got such a wonderful supportive partner and I wish you nothing but the best and a smooth recovery.
Thank you so much for the kind words Ashley! 💗 using the bathroom was definitely an uncomfortable experience for the first couple of weeks! I will try to go into further detail on a future update video! 🙏🏼
You're amazing! I'm a closet follower of you and now I'm "out of the closet", with respect to your story. Congratulations on your bravery and your surgery! I work for the L.A. County Public Health Division of HIV and STD programs and I have the pleasure to work with so many of our transgender population here in Los Angeles. I wish you the best in your continued recovery Maya.
Thank you soo much for this video! As someone who is simply nosey this saves asking someone an intrusive question. You look soo natural, congratulations on your transition xx
you're literally SO gorgeous!! This all sounds so scary but I'm so glad you're able to make this happen even during the pandemic. You're so brave, and you just gained a subscriber
What a lovely video. Thank you so much for sharing such an intimate experience, but in a very easy conversational way. Hoping you're still healing well. :)
So happy that you are now complete. I transitioned in 1988 at 36, and now at 69 planning on getting my SRS next summer now that I can finally afford down here in the states with the cost of $24,500. But, I am really looking forward to it
11 months later 1st time seeing this...girl you did the damn thing amazing that you went through this in that manner...I would need full sedation don't wake me til its over type thing. Amazing glad you're doing well and thnx for taking the time to make this video. Yell are so gallant
Love hearing this I am getting my grs soon and it’s always good hearing before anything but this shot in ur back ? That’s surprising and I know that feeling having to be by urself because of the pandemic I got facial feminization surgery and I had to be on my own I’m so glad and happy ur doing well and happy on ur recovery keep us updated 💖💖💖
What a great video. Thank you for sharing something so personal that bottom line will help others in the future. Congrats and best wishes to you moving forward in the future.
You are such a great person, I'm looking at getting GRS within the next year and its so helpful to have other women talk about what it is like so I can prepare myself mentally 😊❤
@@LEGENDSIN4KREMASTERED no, I won't. I am a 22 year old woman and I am in the medical field. Just because SOME regret it doesn't mean all of us will let alone me with my background
@@LEGENDSIN4KREMASTERED and after looking at your other hateful comments I can tell you that I don't care what you say. Take your "you still look like a man" comments to us and shove them
I love this explanation of the realism of your surgery. I had to get a surgery down there myself and it wasnt for gender reassignment, it was for a pathology or medical issue that developed. It is traumatic getting surgery there, especially when things become changed in appearance and in functionality. I could really relate to this vlog. I thought Maya was so brave to be real about this and it is very high maintenance to get that part of the body to recover. It seems really unfair that some people do not feel they are born into the right body. I am ready for a new different body myself, but I think lots of people can be unhappy inside their body, its not just a gender thing. So to be compassionate for those who are not happy in their body, to honor in your case the difficulty of what you have been through to find your inner peace. This is how to be a supportive human. Bless you dear Maya
I really do like how honest you are when talking about the surgery. Like it definitely isnt something to be taken lightly. It really is a lot that trans people have to go through! You're so strong and brave for going through with this. I wish for you a speedy recovery and hope you're healing well!
I loved your video! I mean, it was pretty gross and discomforting (obviously not as much as your post-surgery experiences - OMG!), but I loved that it was so informative and that you were willing to share so much detail. I'm sure this will be helpful for a lot of people. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
Thank you so much for doing this video! I know it's something so intimate you've shared, but it was so informative, and it will help so many people like me. ❤️ I am approved for an Orchi first very soon (due to certain complications), and will be doing full SRS in a year or so, both in the same clinic as you. TBH I'm kind of terrified about the whole thing, so it's good to know what to expect.
Maya, I'm so happy for you. Glad you're healing well. Your videos first came up on my feed three days ago and I've been keeping up with your progress. You are the first transgender I have been super happy for. I'm happy for all who got the opportunity to make it as far as you. Please keep the videos coming. We all want to know more of Maya's journey. 💖
Thank you so much for sharing. You look and sound beautiful. I have subscribed and will be looking forward to your future updates on your recovery, healing and new life.
You brave,BRAVE girl. I am so impressed with your honesty and your intelligence. And I've always been curious about gender reassignment surgery or whatever the correct term is. And your explanation was very thorough,so thank you. Going forward I hope all goes wonderfully well for you and I wish you much health and happiness.
Congratulations on the success of your surgery. As an "old fart", I've had numerous operations, so your descriptions of the pain, discomfort, annoyance of the hospital food and general reactions to the surgery seem to me to be spot on. Hospital food has improved dramatically over the past 50 years; one of my meals when I was young was cold meatloaf and mushy peas! Your boyfriend deserves a big "thank you" for his attention to your well being. Stay safe, stay sane and enjoy life. My hope is that you continue to do well and have a long and loving life. namaste, Roger
