I'm 1 week post op vsg. Almost lost my life, between internal bleeding and blood clots. This is a serious surgical procedure, the possibility of death is no joke. Thank God I'm alive 🙏
I am so sorry you had a bad experience. I didn’t experience any of those issues at all and was ready to go back to work after 1 week post surgery. I am still home and taking time to heal and not rush anything. Best of luck and success moving forward for you
U right. Just had the surgery on the 31st of Aug was ok but noticed my side incision hurt where most people didn't "experience anything ". Day 8 9f September had serious pain, doc told me to go to er, where they found a blood clot in my abdomen. Been here for 5 days. Thank you Jesus for keeping me It's so serious out here
Just had vsg surgery a week ago, absolutely no pain not even that uncomfortable gas sensation , the girl next to me was complaining so much , guess what !! She couldn’t stop eating even the day before surgery!!! I was a low bmi starting weight 183 5’5 (30 bmi) and I did a clear liquid diet for 3 days !!! It’s worth the sacrifice to avoid pain and gas !
@@houston10 no, the regular one . Because the scars fade so much it wouldn’t matter. I had the lap band years ago (same incisions) pretty much when it was invented for 10 years , I took it off (4yrs ago) and maintained my weight until Covid hit and I was TIRED of waking up daily thinking about “ok diet starts today “ best decision ever, wish I would’ve done it from the beginning in lieu of lap band . NO PAIN I woke up thinking the doctor didn’t do anything because that’s how amazing I felt, not even the gas pain/uncomfortable I felt with the lap band. I did tell my surgeon though, do not remove the standard 80% you do with a sleeve (the one insurance covers) only remove 50-60% of the stomach the part that contains the HUNGER hormone ghrelin especially, so I don’t look like a crack bead . I was a cash patient.
@@Koricometh well , In accordance , guidance to the surgeon , because if I get the sleeve that’s insurance covered , I would be too skinny, I only want to lose 30/40 lbs MAX . Based on a healthy bmi Chart .
Please keep posting and provide recipes. Once I am clear to start purées I will definitely try what the link you provide. Wishing you continues success on your journey
Why did you choose gastric sleeve instead of RouxNY gastric bypass? I have got approved already for surgery but I didn’t do good on my first time on the pre-opt diet. Tomorrow 10/3/22 I go in to get weigh in to see where my weight is. I hope 🤞🏽 things goes well for me and I get a date scheduled for surgery. Ready to start on the new me!!!
Any one who had WLS reading this comment: How's it going for you so far? Any complications that you may have experienced? I'm currently considering wls either vsg or rny. So i really appreciate any help i can get.

Vsg 2weeks ago tomorrow. I strictly followed my liquid diet and still had a lot of pain. The pain is temporary. Even with the pain I'd do it again in an instant. Mentally I am so hungry. But my body physically doesnt seem hungry right now. I finush liquids today and start Puree tomorrow. No complications thus far except I am now having trouble swallowing pills... lack of moisture or maybe my throat tightened since only being on soilds for a month... other then that Life is great. Im 40lbs down in total. Lost 22 on liquid diet before surgery . I am already weaeing ikd clothes that stopped fitting and fitting into smaller sizes at the store. I wanted RNY but only qualified for VSG.
I had vsg and absolutely no issues or complaints. I am on day 10 post op. Each experience is different but I hope if you decide to proceed with wls that you have success and all goes smoothly for you.
