As we begin our study in 1 Peter, it is my desire that we approach it with an attitude of sobriety as the readers of this epistle were going through incredible suffering that is far different from what most have gone through. Peter writes these persecuted Christians in order to give them hope and help in the midst of their suffering. It is a great letter of encouragement for men and women of all ages and for all times
